Goal III Champion for Nurse Educators: Be the voice of nurse educators and champion their interests in political, academic, and professional arenas. Goal IV Advancement of the Science of Nursing Education: Promote evidence-based nursing education and the scholarship of teaching. GOAL/OBJECTIVE #1 Leader in Nursing Education Enhance the NLN s national and international impact as the recognized leader in nursing education To disseminate standards for all types of academic and continuing education programs in nursing in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Inform current members about NLN and MARILN news Publish a quarterly news update via electronic mail and post on social media and - Quarterly Social Media - Ongoing Announce highlights at MARILN Conferences Review NLN website, MAAC website and other communications President-Elect April and October

2 GOAL/OBJECTIVE #1 Leader in Nursing Education Enhance the NLN s national and international impact as the recognized leader in nursing education To make MARILN members aware of NLN products and testing services and other educational tools Provide opportunities for NLN to present testing services and products to members 1) Invite NLN representatives to the biannual MARILN programs to promote products and services April and Oct ) Reports at meetings about any new information regarding NLN products President All Board Meetings

7 Goal #2 Commitment to Members Build a diverse, sustainable, member-led organization with the capacity to deliver our mission effectively, efficiently, and in accordance with our values Strengthen the MARILN organization through increased membeship and financial stability in conjunction to the financial budget Expand individual MARILN membership 1) Start membership renewal is now for April and October April and October 2017 in coordination with MARILN program 2) Obtain individual faculty names and addresses from agency websites (NLN list of faculty members) Constituent League Member and Board Members March ) Invite individual nonmember faculty to join as an individual member with the electronic brochure for the program and offer incentive promotions April and October 2017 in coordination with MARILN program 4) Sponsor a table at all of the MARILN programs to promote membership in MARILN (Focus on nurse educator students) 5) Continue on-line initial membership and membership renewal process, including the use of PayPal for April and October 2017 in coordination with MARILN program April and October 2017 in coordination with MARILN program 7

18 Goal #4 Advancement of the Science of Nursing Education Promote evidence-based nursing education and the scholarship of teaching Involve nurse educators, practitioners, paraprofessionals and consumers regarding current issues in healthcare and nursing education to promote professional growth and development Support student scholarships to promote nursing education Award scholarships for students seeking advanced education; one to a PN student, one to an RN, one to a Masters in Nurse Education student, and one to a PhD nursing education student (one Undergraduate and one graduate scholarship is presented at each of the two biannual MARILN programs) Scholarship committee 1) Scholarship applications are solicited in Nov 2016 for the April 2017 program and May 2017 for Oct 2018 program 2) Applications Reviewed by March 15, 2017 and Oct 1, ) Nominees to be selected by electronic voting of the board members 3 weeks before the program 4) Winners are announced at April and Oct 2017 programs 5) Recipient MUST be present at the program to receive the award Explore outside source of income to support this.
