1 NOTIFICATION BOARD EXAMINATION - DGNM JULY / AUGUST 2016 SESSION DIRECTORATE OF MEDICAL EDUCATION, KILPAUK, CHENNAI GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS: a) All the Head of the Institutions are instructed to submit the duly filled in application to the Chairman, Board of Examination for DGNM, Directorate of Medical Education, Kilpauk, Chennai-10 on or before 7 th April b) All the Institutions are instructed to submit their applications in time. c) Incomplete applications will be summarily rejected without any intimation. d) The Internal Assessment should be sent on or before 7 th April 2016 prior to the commencement of the examination through and hard copy to this Board of Examination. e) The Head of the Institutions are instructed to prepare the eligible examiner list and also to be sent to this office on or before 7 th April EXAMINATION FEE a) Examination fee at Rs.100/- for each paper should be paid separately for Theory & Practical. b) The Examination fee should be sent as Demand Draft in favour of The Chairman, Board of Examination for DGNM, Directorate of Medical Education, Kilpauk, Chennai 10. Payable at Chennai. 3. HALL TICKETS a) The Principals are requested to download the blank Hall Tickets from the website It should be sent along with application duly filled in. b) Authorized hall tickets will be delivered to the respective Examination Centre and the Principals of Private School of Nursing can collect from the respective Examination centre. c) Only recent colour passport size photo having name of the candidate in the photo to be affixed and it should be attested by the Principal.

2 4. ELIGIBLE CRITERIA FOR EXAMINER ARE AS FOLLOWS. a) They must have minimum of 5 years of teaching experience. b) They should have minimum of one year teaching experience in the present working institution. c) The Faculty who are involved for DGNM programme alone will be considered. d) The Faculty involved in the collegiate programme will not be considered for any of the DGNM programme concerned. NOTE: 1. 75% of attendance is required for a student to appear for the Board Examination. 2. The number of attempts in examinations has been waived off. But the candidates must clear all the previous examinations before appearing final year examinations ie. the candidate must clear all the I / II year examinations before appearing III year examination. If any deviation in this regard, the concerned Principal of the School of Nursing is held responsible for any course of action. 3. If III rd year student fails in one subject he / she may be allowed to continue the internship. 4. If a candidate fails in III rd year in two or more subjects, they will not be allowed for internship until they clear all the subjects. 5. The course completion certificate will be issued only after clearing all the subjects and completion of internship period. 6. The Hall Ticket will be issued only after receiving the Internal Assessment. 7. No institution shall submit student average internal marks more than 75% i.e., if 40 students are admitted in a course then the average score of all the (total) 40 students shall not exceed 75%. 8. The Student should pass in the internal assessment in each subject and practical(s). 9. For a student who appears for any supplementary examination her/his fresh internal assessment in the failed subject(s) / practical(s) is to be sent to the Board. R. Candidates should Write their numbers and not their names or the name of the hospital to which they belong on any part of their answer papers. 2. Candidates are prohibited from writing anything either on their hall tickets or question papers. Strict silence should be maintained in the examination hall. 3. Candidates should take their places in the examination hall atleast five minutes before the time fixed for giving out the papers. But a candidate coming more than half-an-hour After the appointed time shall not be admitted. Candidates who are undoubtedly suffering from infectious diseases of any kind will not be admitted to the examination hall. 4. Candidates are not allowed to exceed the time assigned to each Paper. 5. No candidates should be allowed to leave the examination room till expiry of atleast halfan-hour after a Question Paper has been given out and no candidate who leaves the room during the period allotted for paper shall be allowed to return within the period. 6. Candidates are forbidden to ask question of any kind during the examination. they are further forbidden to communicate with examiners. Should they do so their answer will not be valued and their conduct will be reported to the Chairman of the Examination Board for disciplinary action. 7. Candidates are not allowed the use of books of any kind or mobile phones or any other electronic Telecommunication devices. They are also prohibited from introducing into the examination room any books or portion of book, manuscript or paper of any descriptions,

5 from communicating with or copying from each other and from communicating with any person outside the examination room. Any candidate detected in the violation of these rules will be sent out of the room forthwith and the matter reported to the Examination Board. Candidates should have with them on all days of the examination, their hall ticket for inspection by the Chief Superintendent. Candidates are required to provide themselves with their own pens. 8. As soon as candidates have finished writing their answers and wish to give their answer books or at period prescribed for each particular part of the examination each should stand up in their place and remain standing until one of the Superintendents has gone up to their answer book from there.
