Parent/Guardian Involvement: While students will be on campus the entire week, there are two opportunities that we encourage parents/guardians to attend: Welcome Reception/Opening Session: Sunday, June 8 from 12:30 p.m.-3:00 p.m Due to seating capacity, each student may bring only 1 parent or guardian Closing Session: Friday, June 13 from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Due to seating capacity, each student may bring only 1 parent or guardian Visiting Your Child on Campus: JA Business Week requests that parents do not visit the campus during the program, as it can distract students and disrupt the learning environment. However, if you need to bring something for your child, you may drop it off in the JA Business Week Headquarters (see following page for office hours). To ensure student safety and to optimize the JA Business Week experience for all students, participants are not permitted to leave JWU campus during JA Business Week. The JA insurance liability policy allows two exceptions to this regulation: (1) extreme family/health emergencies and (2) planned JA Business Week field trips, which are limited to the following locations: project company field trips, JW Marriott in Cherry Page 1

2 Creek, interview workshop. The week s schedule will be given to students on June 8 th at check-in. Payment Information: All remaining fees are due by May 30, 2014 The deposit and registration fee cover a small portion of the expense for activities, meals and accommodations for the week. The remaining costs are covered by the generous support of Colorado businesses and foundations. You can pay online, by clicking on the PayPal link at Or, you can pay by check: payable to Junior Achievement with your student s name in the memo area. Cancellation and Refund Policy: In the event that your student is unable to attend JA Business Week, the following refund policy applies: If the cancellation is before or on May 30, 2014, a full refund of the registration fee will be issued. If the cancellation is after May 30, the registration fee will not be refunded and will be donated to the JA Business Week program. NO REFUND will be issued if your student is dismissed from the program for misconduct or unsociable behavior OR you choose to withdraw your student for any reason. Lost Keys/Damage Fees Students are responsible for their room keys, and any lost keys will result in a $80 charge. If there is any damage to the room upon check-out, the student who caused the damage will be responsible for the cost of repair. If neither student claims responsibility, both students will split the charge and receive a bill following JA Business Week. Bringing Money to JA Business Week: Since JA Business Week is an all-inclusive program, it is not necessary for students to bring money for the week. Students may wish to bring a small amount of money as there is a convenience store and vending machines. Note that JA Business Week will also supply snacks. Healthcare: In case of a medical emergency, your student will be taken by ambulance to the nearest hospital. Please be certain that JA has the most up to date health and medication information to ensure the best care for your student. Students are personally responsible for the appropriate administration of their medication. Staff will not administer medication during the week. Communicating with my Student: Students may bring their cell phones to communicate with parents during the week. If cell phones or any other electronic devices are brought to campus they must be turned off all day, so they do not disrupt the learning environment. JA Business Week discourages excessive cell phone usage during the program, as not to interrupt the experience of meeting new people and participating in all activities.
