5 New Care Courses 3 Day Induction Awareness th, 6 th and 7 th November This three day induction awareness course is for new employees and will give an awareness of each subject. This is an excellent opportunity for customers to ensure new employees have an awareness of basic skills required before delivering hands on care. Day 1 Roles and Responsibilities Understanding Your Role Equality and Diversity Privacy and Dignity Day 2 Communication Person Centred Care Support & Protection of Vulnerable Groups Day 3 Food and Hydration Infection Prevention and Control Health and Safety Looking After Someone with Dementia Chronic Conditions Monday 26 th November This course will give an understanding of the chronic conditions that face many people, causing significant challenges in their everyday life. The course will look at the different body symptoms and the illness or disease that can occur. Describe the common signs and symptoms of illnesses and how these might be treated. We will also explore the individuals own responsibilities in managing chronic conditions. Tissue Viability Thursday 11 th October This training course discusses all aspects of skin and wound care. Learners will gain an understanding of the MUST tool and the Waterlow Assessment. This course is suitable for all carers and will work towards the SVQ unit in Level 3 FP8F 04 Tissue Viability Risk Assessment. Professional Boundaries Monday 20 th August Professional Boundaries highlights limits which protect carers professional power and their Service Users vulnerability. Attendees will gain a better understanding of the importance of maintaining boundaries.

6 Vital Signs Tuesday 27 th November This course will give carers practical skills and knowledge to assess signs when a Service User may be ill and require medical intervention. Vital signs include - heart rate, blood pressure, body temperature, respiration rate and pain. New Business Courses Management Skills for Supervisors Monday 30 th July This course is aimed at Supervisors, Team Leaders or anyone wishing to progress to a Supervisor. The course provides an introduction to theory and practice of supervisory tasks you may undertake as a Supervisor including assertiveness, time management, leadership styles, chairing purposeful meetings, appraisals and professional boundaries. Customer Care Wednesday 3 rd October This course is for all employees no matter what role they hold in your organisation as Customer Care is for everyone. This course will cover the basic skills of excellent customer care, how to define what great customer care looks like and to understand why great customer care is so important. You will learn how to improve communications skills and how to deal effectively with difficult customer situations. Confidence Building Wednesday 3 rd October This course will build your confidence and raise awareness of how you can be building positive thinking into your life. This course will equip you so that you can improve confidence and understand that you are important. It will give you an understanding of the importance of carrying out affirmations and planning next steps.
