7 Potential increase of 16 students through an agreement with Maine Medical Center - no details yet The decreasing number will be for AD students as we phase out that program Increasing number for BSN students - entered fall of students, entered fall of students and will continue to admit minimum of 60 students per year The Accelerated BSN program - started with 23 and will increase to 30 by 2013 The RN to BSN Completion porgram has plans to increase to 25 entering per year We are accepting a second cohort of 24 students into our collaborative Pilot project with MMC for students with a prior baccalaureate degree. They will begin classes in May We are working to increase the student numbers for the RN - BSN program - it has no caps and is a new program. The ASN program has a cap of 56 one year (non distance offerings) and of 88 on the distance ed years. This is largely determined by the number of available clinical sites and instructors for the program. NA
8 AD program phase out - spring 2013 last graduating class BSN program implemented Fall of first graduating class - spring 2014 Accelerated BSN program - implemented Dec first graduating class - spring 2013 If the above goes through it will most likely occur in Fall 2012 none None We have a committee that is putting together a proposal for a DNP but there is not yet a target date. We have suspended admission to the following graduate concentrations for 2013: Adult Nurse Practitioner, Adult Psy/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Adult Psy/Mental Clinical Nurse Spec, Adult Clinical Nurse Specialist. We are adding Adult/Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner

19 Did not need to hire difficult requires lots of time All positions filled. Some qualified applicants turned away. OK Difficulty finding MSN prepared nurses for $25/hour. Challenging but not as much as previous years Difficult to find qualified part time faculty with minimum of BSN On-going difficulty in recruiting expert nurses as part-time clinical instructors (adjunct appointments), particularly in the areas of pediatics, OB-Women's health, and psychiatric nursing. We have had many openings for adjunct clinical faculty and Full Time faculty. It has been difficult to fill and keep the adjunct faculty. - partly due to the salary and workload. We have had a several openings for Full time faculty members due to retirement, phased retirement, and faculty moving to other programs. It has been difficult although not impossible to hire new faculty members in the Augusta. It has been very difficult to hire people for the Down East area where we have an affiliate program. Most of the people do not take the positions due to salary adjustments. Most of our adjunct faculty are alumni. We were successful in filling all of our clinical requests I assume this should be for 2011/12 - we are using a lot of BS prepared clinical faculty who may or may not be in a master's program or completing our education certificate program. We have had a lot of difficulty finding sufficient faculty to work and are looking at creative ways to provide clinical to students in non-acute care settings as alternatives.

50 Incorporated QSEN, ADN competencies, and NLN competencies (1) hired a geriatric nurse specialist (2) have adopted QSEN competencies as a framework for our clinical evaluations (3) have added interdisciplinary courses, an interdisciplinary health fair, and grants to encourage interdisciplinary course work (4) 2 grants to create bridges between education and service (5) increased use of case studies to promote clinical reasoning - including content on clinical reasoning for our adjunct orientations In process with curriculum revisions - includes adopting Maine Nursing competencies Revised BSN program outcomes are inclusive of AACN BSN Essentials and the Maine Nursing Competencies I hesitate to check yes or no at this point because we are working to change our curriculum design and are in the process of looking at all of the competencies. I would say we will as we are reviewing our information and work for accreditation, continued for the ASN and initial for the BSN. We adopted the competencies and have conducted a gap analysis with our primary practice partners to identify gaps in our curriculum. We have made adjustments to our curriculum, in particular the clinical experiences. We also developed a new course on health care policy. Evaluation tool for clinical and didactic has been revamped to reflect the Maine Nursing competencies. New course objectives have been written plus new terminal program objectives have been developed to reflect the competencies. Curriculum is examining the competencies now to see how to best incorporate into undergraduate curriculum.
