2 Resolve Through Sharing May 23 24, 2018 Bereavement Training: Perinatal Death Training focus This course focuses on death through miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth, and newborn death. Purpose The purpose of this training is to provide participants with a rich educational experience that enhances their knowledge, level of skill, and personal awareness while providing care to families whose baby dies. A baby dies... This comprehensive, evidence-based, and person-centered training and the RTS Model of bereavement care support the Triple Aim and ACO requirements for consistent delivery of quality patient care. You ll learn ways to incorporate RTS concepts into everyday practice that care teams and leadership will find invaluable. This course is recommended to prepare for the Hospice and Palliative Credentialing Center s Perinatal Loss Care Certification Exam. 4 Resolve Through Sharing May 25, 2018 Coordinator Training (train-the-trainer) NEW Curriculum In this 1-day workshop you will learn how to provide in-services and teach RTS Bereavement Training: Perinatal Death, Neonatal and Pediatric Death, or Pediatric and Adult Death to staff within your healthcare system using Resolve Through Sharing resources. You will also learn the skills you need to establish and maintain an interprofessional, bestpractice bereavement standard of care in your organization. Pre-requirement RTS Bereavement Training: Perinatal Death, Neonatal and Pediatric Death, or Pediatric and Adult Death Please Note: This pre-requirement is mandatory to attend Coordinator Training. Purpose The purpose of this workshop is to provide individuals trained in the concepts of RTS with knowledge and skills necessary to develop and implement a comprehensive RTS perinatal, neonatal and pediatric, or pediatric and adult bereavement program. REGISTER at About the Faculty Elizabeth Ricci, RN, BSN, MS, IBCLC, CPLC Nurse Manager, Perinatal Testing Centers Main Line Health System Bryn Mawr, PA During Elizabeth s more than 30 years of maternal child nursing, she worked as a staff nurse in labor and delivery, newborn nursery and postpartum, and an IBCLC. Elizabeth practiced as an adjunct professor for maternal child nursing for Delaware County Community College and Widener University in Pennsylvania. In 1986, she became an RTS coordinator. Throughout her career, Elizabeth served as chair for perinatal bereavement and perinatal palliative and hospice care committees. She also planned and implemented perinatal bereavement programs for three hospitals. Elizabeth joined the RTS national faculty in Currently, she is the nurse manager for perinatal testing centers in a four hospital health system; system chair, Perinatal Bereavement Committee; system chair, Perinatal Palliative and Hospice Care Committee, member of the hospital Bioethics Committee, member of the Pregnancy Loss and Infant Death Alliance Board of Directors, and VP for Pennsylvania Resource Organization for Lactation Consultants from 2011 through Education Credit full bios available at Heather Silver, LCSW-C, CPLC Heather has worked as a clinical social worker for over 17 years. After working with Maryland s foster care system for drug affected newborns, Heather began work in the hospital setting in With a deep passion for perinatal loss, she became involved with the bereavement program at Anne Arundel Medical Center. In 2009, Heather went to Baltimore Washington Medical Center to open their Women s Pascal Center where she developed, coordinated, and directed the maternal and child health social work and perinatal bereavement and palliative care programs. Heather joined the RTS National in In 2011, she began a perinatal and pediatric palliative care program with Hospice of the Chesapeake in Annapolis where she worked until the program was dissolved. Heather recently opened the free-standing perinatal palliative program, SilverLeaf, LLC, which specializes in perinatal palliative care, traumatic loss, infertility, and perinatal depression. It is the only one of its kind in Maryland. Heather is an active member of the Fetal Infant Mortality Review (FIMR) board for Anne Arundel County as well as the county s Community Action Team (CAT). She has served on the Exam Development Committee for the Hospice and Palliative Credentialing Center (HPCC) since its inception.
