2 O V E RV I E W The format of this three-day conference will include interactive presentations from nationally and locally recognized thought leaders from academic and clinical settings. Expert case discussion will be featured which will give the participants ample time for interaction with faculty to improve knowledge acquisition. Question and answer sessions, round table and debate will also be incorporated. O B J E C T I V E S At the conclusion of this course, the participant will be able to: Discuss in detail the multiple areas of cardiovascular medicine. Draw informed clinical decisions in cardiovascular medicine. Cite responsible and balanced debate on conventional and controversial issues in the area of cardiovascular medicine. Forecast and discuss important issues and trends in cardiovascular medicine. Assess health locally and regionally by evaluating the quality of medicine care and disease prevention. W H O S H O U L D AT T E N D The course is designed for cardiologists (both general and sub-specialty), internists, family practitioners, physicians assistants, and cardiovascular nurse practitioners and other interested health care professionals. C O N T I N U I N G E D U C AT I O N C R E D I T The is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The designates this live activity for a maximum of AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Each physician should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. You may book a room by calling the hotel at (724) or 1 (800) and asking for the UPMC/ACC Cardiology Update room block in order to receive our reduced rates. The special reduced rate is $239 for a room at the Lodge and $309 for a room at the Chateau plus applicable taxes and fees per night. These accommodations are not included in registration fee. We cannot guarantee space in the program or any program inclusions for those registrations received after this date. If space is available after this date, on-site registration will be required and incur an additional processing fee.
