1 Tissue Viability ducation Plan 2018 County Tissue Viability Team ducation Meetings These meetings are for County Tissue Viability Team Members To determine and implement the strategy within Tissue Viability across Worcestershire. To facilitate the development of policies, guidelines and wound management formulary across Worcestershire. To facilitate the networking and implementation of best practices To co-ordinate undertaking evaluations in Registered Health Care Professionals practice. To provide education and training to the team members in Tissue Viability 1 pm 4.30 pm 23rd January th March th April th June th July th September th November th ecember 2018 Shrawley Village Hall Stop The Pressure day To highlight the current agenda regarding pressure ulcer prevention, risk assessment, moisture lesions, pressure ulcer classification, RCA process and learning, CQUIN and documentation. This will be run with WHCT and will be sponsored by manufacturing companies and there will be an exhibition during the event. 15 th November 2018 Worcester Rugby Club Tissue Viability & Children s A one day study event on Tissue Viability in children specifically for the Children s Team. This will include current Tissue Viability issues in regard to Children s nursing, risk assessment, skin and pressure ulcer training and an exhibition. 9 am 4.30 pm 25th January 2018 Château Impney, roitwich 1
2 Assessing and utilising pressure reducing equipment in Registered Health Care Professionals practice, including Children s services Waterlow Risk Assessment All Registered Health Care Professional staff who order pressure reducing equipment through the Integrated Community quipment Service will need to complete this course. The course is suitable for any Registered Health Care Professional involved in assessment, allocation and use of pressure reducing equipment through the Integrated Community quipment Service including Children s service. It is to assist Health Care professionals with equipment selection, utilising the equipment in practice and reviewing and returning the equipment Staff will need to complete the appropriate -learning session before attending the sessions This training is for Registered Health Care Professionals that have not previously been trained to use Waterlow or have completed the learning and have questions or seek clarification am pm 24 th January st February st March th April rd May th June th July nd August th September th October st November th ecember 2018 Integrated Community quipment Service, Wychbold 14 th March 2018 Crompton Room A Charles Hastings ducation Pressure ulcer and skin awareness for HCA s Learning is available and is essential for certain staff groups as identified in SR Introduction to pressure ulcer prevention, skin observation, essential skin care, documentation and reporting to staff 2 pm 4 pm 27 th February th May 2018 Training Room 2, Woodside Rooms 1 & 2 The Hub POWCH 20th September 2018 Practical Room, vesham TU 21 st November 2018 Room 2, New Treatment, Kidderminster Hospital 2

It will be run in conjunction with WAHT To support Registered Health Care Professionals who have responsibility for grading of pressure ulcers. 14 th June 2018 Worcester Rugby Club 10 am am 5 th June 2018 Teaching Room 2 Charles Hastings ducation Wound Assessment and Management To assist the Health Care Professional to assess wounds and provide wound management based on the Worcestershire Wound Management Formulary 1 pm 4 pm 7 th February th May 2018 Training Room 1 Woodside Room 2 New Treatment, Kidderminster Hospital 9 am - 12 noon 11 th September 2018 Practical training room vesham TU Wound Infection Nursing Homes A joint conference with Infection Prevention & Control exploring aspects of Infection Prevention & Control in Tissue Viability, including wound infection, assessment & categorisation of infection and the appropriate use of antimicrobial dressings. This includes the annual infection control update This is a bespoke day for Care Home (Nursing). It will include a wide range of key Tissue Viability issues. 4 Induction to WHCT (Tissue Viability) Introduction to Tissue Viability within WHCT including pressure ulcer prevention, Wound Management Formulary, Registered Health Care Professionals guidelines. NB Further dates to be confirmed by learning and development Leg ulcer care To assist the Healthcare Professional in leg ulcer care. This will be sponsored by Leg Ulcer manufacturing companies and there will be an exhibition during the event It is open to all Registered Healthcare Professionals and will be an update for all those who have completed their accredited leg ulcer course. This conference will include care of the patient with Chronic Oedema oppler Ultrasound To provide an update on oppler Ultrasound including the latest technology and evidence. NB. oppler Ultrasound should only be undertaken in accordance with national and local guidelines by a registered health care professional who has undertaken an accredited course. This course is designed as an update for those who have completed their accredited course in leg ulcer management Compression Study days To provide theoretical and practical education in relation to the application of compression bandaging and hosiery. This is a whole day and will include theory and hands on practical experience.
