Through participation in this conference, participants will be able to: Update your knowledge and skills by reviewing state-of-the-art diagnosis and treatment in general and subspecialty pediatrics, including Psychiatry, Behavioral, Dermatology, ENT, and Allergy & Immunology. Enhance your ability to diagnose and manage complex or difficult clinical cases in the above areas of. Provide a forum for informal learning and discussion in plenary and small group settings through interactions with colleagues and experts. Also, the conference will provide participants with the ability to: Review the pathophysiology of defiant and dysfunctional behavior and discuss the role of the Basal Ganglia and Frontal Lobe in childhood behavior. Review the management and clinical approach to Disruptive Behavior. Utilize a process which identifies the vital information needed to provide parents with evidence-based training to modify childhood behavior. Relate the development of dysfunctional behavior to the family environment and apply evidence-based parent training to the management of defiant and dysfunctional behavior. Review and discuss the clinical presentation and management of hemangiomas. Discuss complications of body piercings and tattoos and how they might be managed. Discuss topical therapy for the management of dermatologic conditions. Recall the value of tympanostomy tubes in children and when they are prescribed. Discuss the diagnostic approach and management of children with Asthma, food allergies, eosinophilic esophagitis, recurrent infections. Recall the answers to questions dealing with general and subspecialty pediatrics. Who Should Attend This course is intended for pediatric physicians, primary care physicians, subspecialty physicians, nurse practitioners, residents, fellows and other health care professionals. Continuing Medical Education Credit Children s Hospital of The King s Daughters is accredited by the Medical Society of Virginia to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
