Facilitates communications within and among levels of the undergraduate program to promote curriculum implementation and quality improvement. Champions innovative, pedagogically sound approaches to baccalaureate nursing education and encourages the evaluation of these innovations. Collaborates with the Associate Head, faculty committees, and College of Health and Human Sciences Student Services Office to determine target student enrollments for undergraduate programs. Provides information for and participates in student recruitment and public relations. Ensures accuracy of catalogs, brochures and related program materials for the undergraduate programs. Ensures that the database and academic folders for students in the programs are accurate and regularly evaluates recruitment, admission, progression, and graduation trends in collaboration with the Associate Head. Oversees the curriculum evaluation process including standardized testing, data collection and interpretation. Uses evaluation data to make recommendations to the appropriate school committees for deliberation and action. Participates as ex-officio member on the Student Affairs committee and the Undergraduate Curriculum committee. Acts as a resource for faculty teaching in the undergraduate program regarding issues related to student success and progression; including student withdrawal, appeals, and grievances. Works with academic advisors on student success and retention, including meeting with students dealing with issues such as professional behavior, criminal background issues, and NCLEX preparation and success. Negotiates clinical utilization and serves as the liaison between the School and agencies. Ensures that clinical sites meet all standards and criteria, that program outcomes are understood by agencies, and collaborates with course faculty to see that clinical sites receive recognition of their participation. Collaborates with faculty in the identification, recruitment and development of undergraduate clinical sites and makes clinical contract recommendations to the Associate Head. Collaborates with the Leadership Team in the determination of teaching assignments for undergraduate courses. Oversees the selection, orientation, and performance of teaching assistants. Supports the development of undergraduate study abroad experiences in accordance with school, college, and university initiatives,
3 PAMELA M. KARAGORY Page 3 validating contribution of these experiences with the curriculum plan. Advises the Nursing Skills Lab and Simulation faculty for support of undergraduate learning. Provides recommendation for faculty development, and resource requirements to the leadership team, including needs for faculty expertise to meet program requirements. Represents the program to internal and external communities of interest as appropriate. Completes annual reports on the program for internal and external constituents. Coordinates Student participation in the University Honors College Program. Coordinates and leads student enrollment and participation in the University Professional Practice Cooperative Program Present Purdue University School of Nursing DIRECTOR OF CONTINUING EDUCATION Administrator and planner for Purdue University Continuing Nursing Education with responsibilities and accountability in three interactive arenas including: National & State, University-wide, and the School of Nursing. Developed and submitted a comprehensive self study to American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) for national accreditation as a continuing education provider. Received Accreditation with Distinction February, Facilitated a partnership agreement and participation with the Purdue College of Pharmacy Continuing Education Department in the development and delivery of interprofessional continuing education (IPE). Serves on the College of Pharmacy Continuing Education strategic planning committee. Develop and conduct faculty continuing education needs assessment annually Completed self-study for the Indiana State Nurses Association accreditation (August 2010). Three-year reaccreditation received June Facilitate the assessment, planning implementation and evaluation of all nursing continuing education programs provided by the School of Nursing. Generated $78,000 in operating revenue in developing co-provided CE activities with College of Pharmacy Continuing Education department (May 2010-December 2016). The course provides clinical leaders with the tools for leading and managing people through strategic and financial planning, team building, conflict management and study of complex change through quality and process management. Contextual QI experiences integrated into this course, build on students prior foundation and uses Lean QI methodology for team-based QI projects with local practice partners Purdue University School of Nursing CLINICAL ASSISTANT PROFESSOR NUR 417: Leadership in Nursing: The components of leadership and management functions within nursing are presented with an emphasis on delegation, critical thinking, problem solving, and clinical performance improvement. The course provides clinical leaders with the tools for leading and managing people through strategic and financial planning, team building, conflict management and study of complex change through quality and process management. Teaching Responsibilities include: NUR 218/220: Essentials of Nursing Practice. 5 credit course that introduces the professional nurse role, which is supported by fundamental concepts and principles of the nursing process in lecture and clinical settings. Learners apply communication assessment and nursing skills while caring for the needs of clients in diverse populations and across the life span. 2013: Facilitated the implementation of Quality Improvement (QI) course content and student QI projects 2014: Developed and implemented a student Digital Badge learning and competency recognition program. NUR 218/220: Course leadership responsibilities: Co-coordinated the development and implementation of this 5-credit, foundation course. Innovative Quality Improvement and community partnership projects were implemented as core content. This resulted in enhanced student learning and awareness of population, community and system healthcare

Introduced freshman nursing students to the role and responsibilities of the professional nurse and provided an overview of the healthcare system. NUR 102: Course leadership responsibilities: Coordinated this course Spring 2010 and Fall Revised course to include student participation in the nursing simulation lab. Developed and taught basic nursing skills (hand washing and bed making) that helped prepare students for sophomore clinical experience. Introduced graded quizzes that required academic rigor and enhanced students course participation. Provided faculty leadership for the Nursing Nexus Learning Community NUR: 217 Foundations of Professional Nursing/Clinical: Taught the application of nursing principles and care in the clinical setting. Developed safety scenarios used by all instructors that focused on patient environmental safety risks Professional Home Nursing, Caribou, Maine SUPERVISING PROFESSIONAL REGISTERED NURSES Responsible for the professional skilled nursing services delivered to clients in their home setting. Nursing services included: Supervision of direct care staff including licensed practice nurses and home health aides. Care assessment planning and implementation and evaluation. KARAGORY Page 6 Provide medication administration treatment modalities and care coordination with health care team The Aroostook Medical Center, Presque Isle, Maine VICE PRESIDENT/CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER Horizons Health Services Responsible for the leadership and management of Horizons Health Services, which provides primary and specialty medical services throughout the Northern Maine community. Responsibilities included planning, developing, staffing and evaluating the organization and its services. Under the immediate direction of the governing Board and Medical Center President, administered, directed and coordinated all services and had full responsibility for the day-to-day operations of Horizons Health Services, the providers, nursing and support staff. Developed and implemented multiple primary and specialty care centers throughout the service area, expanding services to include long-standing underserved population sites. Led the successful recruitment and retention of highly skilled and highly sought professionals, including MD, DO, NPs, PAs, and professional nursing staff. Designed and facilitated leadership development programs focused on building a high trust workplace. Established a comprehensive Performance Improvement Plan. Led Board, medical staff, management and nursing staff in organizational development and advancement. Secured the awarding of a multi-year contract with Job Corps to provide health care services for students at the Loring Job Corps educational facility in Limestone, Maine. Negotiated and managed all physician, nurse practitioner, and physician assistant contracts. Developed the nursing service with a focused vision and standards for practice resulting in stable work groups. Established and led community advisory boards to establish comprehensive and collaborative goals and objectives to meet the unique and individualized health and wellness needs of each community served The Aroostook Medical Center, Presque Isle, ME DIRECTOR OF NURSING, Community General Hospital Division Responsible for all nursing, clinical operations, rehabilitation, skilled nursing program, intermediate nursing facility, psychiatric, medical, outpatient, and occupational health services in a 54-bed acute care and skilled nursing hospital.
