6 Learning Objectives As a result of their participation, the attendees will increase their ability to: 1. Restore clotting function in trauma patients who have been on irreversible anticoagulant therapy. 2. Design their mass casualty plans on the basis of lessons learned in current mass casualty incidents. 3. Integrate the new Level 4 Trauma Centers into their organizational and regional trauma plans. 4. Use the principles of managing severe traumatic brain injury in the Level 4 Trauma Center setting. 5. Effectively use the Society of Critical Care Medicine 2013 Clinical Practice Guidelines for the Management of Pain, Agitation and Delirium in critically ill trauma patients. 6. Integrate current guidelines for treating a spinal cord injury patient in the first 72 hours into their practice. 7. Conduct effective and supportive family conferences and goals of care discussions. 8. Recognize conditions that cause rapid cardiovascular deterioration in pediatric trauma patients. 9. Accurately and completely assess trauma patients.

From West of Topeka: Take I-70 East to Exit 363 Adams St./ Branner Trafficway exit. Turn left (south) on Adams and travel to 15th St., which is the first street on right. Turn right (west) on 15th St. When the street forks, stay on the left hand side and merge on to 17th St. (15th St. goes right). The Capitol Plaza Hotel is on the southwest corner of Topeka Blvd. and 17th St. From South of Topeka: Travel on the Kansas Turnpike (335) north to South Topeka Exit #177. Pay the toll and immediately get into the right lane. Go north on Topeka Blvd. The Capitol Plaza Hotel is on the southwest corner of Topeka Blvd. and 17th St. From KCI Airport: Take I-29 North approximately 2 miles to I-425 South.
