3 Congratulations for having the highest ONCC recertification rate in % This rate is also higher than the national benchmarked average (78%) for advanced nursing practice recertification Reinstatement Policy Developed in response to requests from nurses First implementation for those due to renew certification in 2010 Those who missed the October 15 deadline to renew by Option 1 (ONC-PRO) may apply for reinstatement May accrue additional points until December 31 Complete packet (including all back-up documentation) must be submitted by March 15 of the year following expiration Fee= $300 in addition to regular renewal fee 66 nurses used this option in 2010 Radiation Therapy Assessment-based Certificate Program Developed in response to requests from nurses in the subspecialty --number of nurses in subspecialty not sufficient to support a certification program Joint venture with ONS to include online education with an end-of-course test that must be passed in order to earn the certificate No credentials will be awarded Certificate will be time-limited Educational component is almost complete and development of the test will begin soon Target date: Early

4 Focus on Ethics Fraudulent use of ONCC credentials by those who have never been certified or who have let certification lapse ONCC takes action in the form of sanctions, up to and including permanent denial of certification All nurses and employers have a responsibility to protect the integrity of the certification process Employers are responsible for verifying employee s certification directly with ONCC online verification is free written verification available for a small fee Focus on Ethics When helping is cheating Disclosing information about the examination is strictly prohibited All candidates agree to the terms of the ONCC Confidentiality Agreement which forbids disclosure about test items and answers in any format, including verbal to anyone, including colleagues, mentors, teachers, professors and supervisors Focus on Ethics Violating the confidentiality agreement may result in sanctions, including revocation of certification or permanent denial of certification Both the provider and receiver of inappropriate information may be sanctioned 4
