6 How do we deliver these in Halton? Wide range of contracts that have been retendered and reconfigured to be more integrated and cost effective since we entered the Council in CHAMPS across big footprint PHE national campaigns, 40 a year. Partnerships CAB, HHT, Vikings, CCG, Fire Service, police, churches, voluntary sector. In house services. Child Poverty Commission. Place based initiatives: Local Alcohol Action Area, Healthy New Towns, Well North.

7 Major Contracts Bridgewater: 0 to 19 Healthy Child Pathway integrated service with HVs, FNP, School nurses and early help. Infection control in the community and primary care. WHH: Integrated sexual health service offering all tiers of service together prevention, family planning, GUM in Widnes & Runcorn open 7 days a week, range of times a.m., p.m. evenings.

8 Major Contracts Change, Grow, Live: Halton Integrated Drug & Alcohol Recovery Service operates an open access assessment system in Widnes. Offers: syringe exchange, health screening including vaccination for BBV, mutual aid & therapeutic groups, opiate replacement prescribing, breakfast clubs, shared care. Builds recovery in the community with local activities e.g. allotment group, peer mentoring, volunteering. Community detoxification for alcohol and opiate, access to inpatient detoxification and rehabilitation, holistic therapies, Carer and Family group, help with employment.

9 Major Contracts 5BP: Tier 4 weight management services for morbidly obese patients. Meets bariatric surgery referral standards. 5BP: CAMHS joint with CCG. Training for staff on promotion & prevention.

W&R Cancer Support Group vol sector support for patients. CHAMPS Advocacy, policy work, HEE, Youth 5 Connect mental health programme for schools. Healthy Start Vitamins for pregnant women.

11 In-House Services In House Services Integrated Wellness Service: community based integrated Health Improvement, Active Halton & Sure Start to Later Life services for older people, adults, families, young people includes -healthy eating, healthy early years, stop smoking, weight management for adults and children, smoking prevention, emotional health & wellbeing for adults & children, being active, health checks, training, education for service providers, MECC, IGR programme, cardiac rehab, workplace health, HELPS accident prevention, cancer screening support.

14 Food Mapping REPORT TO: Health and Wellbeing Board DATE: 4 th November 2015 REPORTING OFFICER: Director of Public Health PORTFOLIO: Health and Wellbeing SUBJECT: A study to examine access to healthy and affordable food in Halton. WARDS: Borough Wide PURPOSE OF THE REPORT This report is to inform the board of a study by the Public Health Department to examine the ability of residents in Halton to access a healthy, affordable diet. This project is currently at the planning stage. The purpose of the report is to make members of the board and their organisations aware of the project and provide them with an opportunity to participate. Further updates will be provided to the board as the project progresses. RECOMMENDATION: the report be noted; and members take the opportunity to raise questions or comments regarding the project. SUPPORTING INFORMATION 3.1 Overview The project will examine the ability of residents to access a healthy and affordable diet by mapping the availability of food across the borough and assess the barriers that may prevent residents from accessing a healthy diet. The findings of the project will provide an evidence base to inform future policy with regard to improving the diet and reducing levels of obesity in Halton.
