1 Procedure for Safety Supervisor Registration Scheme (SSRS) 01. Accreditation & Training Mission Statement The Accreditation & Training Program is in line with the Trakhees Mission to ensure adherence of rules and regulations mandated by the authority through innovation and use of technology to enhance both performance and customer satisfaction. 02. Introduction: This 1 day training program is specially designed for the individuals who undertake health and safety role on full time basis on modification projects. It is mandatory that for all the contractors workings on the Dubai World Developments (Modification Projects) are hereby made aware of their obligation to comply with the requirements to get their employees registered as safety supervisors to work on modification projects. 03. Purpose: The purpose of this procedure is to facilitate the clients/consultants/contractors in getting their employees registered as safety supervisors to expedite the modification works. The procedure describes the method to apply & get registered under SSRS, for the contractors/consultants/client s working under the jurisdiction of Trakhees 04. Scope: This procedure is applicable to all contractors, consultants and clients under the jurisdiction of Trakhees. 05. Course Fees: AED 1010 /- per person (new/renewal) which includes Knowledge fee, Refreshments & Lunch to be paid in Cash/Cheque at EHS main office/dragon Mart, as per the details mentioned in the payment advice. 06. Accreditation Card & Certificate Validity: The Certificate and the Accreditation Card will be valid for a period of 2 years from the training date, after which all candidates will be required to attend refresher training. 08. Registration Procedure: 8.1 The applicants are required to hold appropriate qualifications relevant to their job functions and roles as described in the below mentioned qualification criteria. The candidates should have the basic knowledge of health and safety prior to attending the SSRS training course. 8.2 Trakhees reserves its right with respect to the decision for attendance or registration as a Safety Supervisor. The decision will be communicated to the concerned applicants & will be binding on them. 8.3 The Booking Form is to be downloaded from EHS websitehttp:// completed in all respect and submitted to EHS-Accreditation at Ehs.Accreditation@trakhees.ae along with all Required Documents. EHS will review the details and send the Payment Advice through to the approved candidates after screening the applications. EHS will confirm the date and time of the course by after sending a copy of the payment receipt to EHS Accreditation. 8.4 The applicant details will be reviewed by our Assessment Team if he is qualified to go through our Training Course. A minimum of 5 working days waiting period is required for obtaining assessment results. 8.5 All candidates who have successfully attended the Safety Supervisor Registration Course will be issued with Accreditation Card mentioning SSRS. The card will contain a photograph of the candidate and a unique serial number for identification. The Accreditation Card remains the property of EHS and must be surrendered upon request. All registered safety supervisors are required to carry their Accreditation Card with them during working hours as they may be required to present it if asked by the authority. 8.6 In the event of loss of Accreditation Card, the concerned safety supervisor must report it immediately to EHS where a replacement card will be issued upon request approval at a cost of REVISION: 01 December 2013 Page 2 of 6

3 AED 100, payable prior to the issuance of the card. Before the expiry of the card safety supervisors will be required to attend a refresher course only with prior approval by the authority. The updates will be provided to all registered safety supervisors. After attending the refresher course, the safety supervisor will be issued a new registration card & which will be valid for further 2 years. 8.7 If the safety supervisor changes his sponsor, it must be informed to Trakhees accreditation department and SSRS card needs to be updated with new sponsor s name. Upon application sponsors name will be changed as per the new visa by paying a fees of AED 100/- towards replacement of SSRS card with amendment. 8.8 The flow charts provide a step by step guide to ensure that all are familiar with the process and can make the necessary applications. 8.9 Submission of any forged documents (certificates, qualifications, experience etc.) will lead to disqualification/ban as well as legal action against the applicant Project Managers / Senior Managers are not eligible for the SSRS. Such applicants may choose Managers Safety Awareness Program (MSAP) Registered Safety Advisors with SARS Card can also work as Safety Supervisors for the modification works. 09. 4 In order to be accepted for a Trakhees Accreditation program, the following documents (clear copies) must be submitted by Required Documents for Registration 1. Filled Registration Form (filled using the computer (PC), not scanned copy). 2. Fully updated CV of the participant in PDF format. 3. Qualifications Scanned copy of Accepted basic Academic Qualifications. Scanned copy of Basic first aid training from an approved institute accredited by EHS Scanned copy of Basic Firefighting Training from an approved institute accredited by EHS which includes Practical Firefighting training Scanned copy of managing safely/general Safety in work place from an approved institute accredited by EHS. Course needs to be with a minimum duration of 3-5 days 4. Color Passport copy with valid visa page. 5. Trade license copy of the sponsoring company 6. 5 Qualifications Requirement for Safety Supervisor Registration Scheme Accepted basic Academic Qualifications: 1. Secondary School Leaving certificate (SSLC)/10 th Standard Or 2. Higher Secondary School certificate (HSSC or 10+2) Any other academic qualifications other than the above will be subject to the final approval of screening committee. Accepted Training Certificates : 1. Basic first aid training from an approved institute accredited by EHS 2. Basic Firefighting Training from an approved institute accredited by EHS with Practical Firefighting training 3. Managing Safely/General Safety in work place from an approved institute accredited by EHS with a minimum duration of 3-5 days Any other training other than the above will be subject to the approval of screening committee. Note: All the above certificates (Academic) need to be authenticated by U.A.E ministry of foreign affairs Accepted Experience Criteria 2 years experience in the field of construction industry.
