The PA will be an integral part of an orthopaedic trauma team working with cutting edge technology. The position includes general orthopaedics and trauma. The trauma Doctors handle cases involving: ankle, humorous, hip, F&A and pelvic, wrist fractures, open and closed fractures of the femur and tibia, intra-articular fractures involving the knee and intra-articular fractures of the ankle. This position is 4.5 day work week with call three weekdays per month (no trauma call). The new PA will have the following responsibilities: + Provide surgical first assist + Perform patient evaluations + Casting and splints + Joint aspirations and injections + Fracture reductions + Post-op follow-ups and rounding + Call coverage + Patient education + Order diagnostic test and review results This orthopaedic group has very little turnover. The new PA/NP will have the opportunity to run a clinic. Call is very light. Successful candidate must be Board-Certified and must already have a Texas license or one pending.
