1 Ontario Ministry of Labour The ILO Workshop Better Health and Safety for Suppliers April 17 th 2007 Toronto, Canada In Cooperation with Ontario Ministry of Labour Also in Partnership with IALI, IAPA and GTZ Using the supply chain to promote higher standards of safety and health at work can be immensely effective. Building on recent practical experience, this workshop provides an opportunity for large and small enterprises, government representatives, employers, workers and others to discuss the challenges of using the supply chain in this way and to agree a way forward. As part of the workshop, 3 working groups will also consider particular case studies on how multi-national enterprises and other large organizations can influence their suppliers' safety and health performance, the accreditation of suppliers and how their performance can be measured in practice.
