Palestinian National Authority Ministry of Health Palestinian Health Status
Acknowledgement WHO efforts for organizing this vital meeting under the critical situations Palestine is facing. WHO, UNICEF and other UN agencies for their positive continuous support despite the restrictions and policies taken against the PNA by the international community. 6/13/2006 2
Palestinian Elections 2006 Since 25 th January the PNA has been facing major threats that may lead to its collapse, an event we all surely are aware of its severe complications and consequences. I would like to remind you of the great efforts and money that was spent by the international community to help Palestinians establish their socioeconomic and health systems, and that we all must NOW give full support to sustain and maintain. 6/13/2006 3
Outbreaks the international community faced the out break of Avian flu, and with full support of WHO and international agencies Palestinian Ministry of Health managed to prevent infections. Palestine also faced the out break of Mumps that without the support of the international community might have led to severe complications and a case of epidemic crisis. Leishmaniasis has reached up to Tulkarm and several cases are reported due to lack of ability to spray and prevent disease, many more will appear if the closure continues 6/13/2006 4
Therefore, We CALL for An action by the International Community, donors and neighboring countries to protect Palestine and the region from epidemics Support the Palestinian Ministry of Health and prevent the collapse of the health system rather than facing a crisis that can not be reversed. 6/13/2006 5
