2 Course Overview STATEMENT OF NEED This CME symposium seeks to fulfill the need in the practicing physician and allied professionals to increase the fund of knowledge and competence in managing arrhythmias. The symposium will discuss techniques to optimize outcomes of catheter ablation, device therapy, and medical therapy of patients with arrhythmias. The symposium will utilize lectures, videos, case presentation, debates, and panel discussions to optimize learning. TARGET AUDIENCE This is a regional program, designed for: Physicians Allied Health Professionals Pharmacists s Family Practice Internal Medicine Primary Care LEARNING OBJECTIVES At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to: Utilize clinical criteria to screen and refer patients who may benefit from catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation. Identify appropriate patients for catheter ablation. Develop strategies to manage patients prior to catheter ablation based on current guidelines. Improve management of atrial fibrillation in your cardiac patients. ACCREDITATION The Stanford University School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. CREDIT DESIGNATION The Stanford University School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. The California Board of Registered Nursing recognizes that Continuing Medical Education (CME) is acceptable for meeting RN continuing education requirements; as long as the course is certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit (rn.ca.gov). Nurses will receive a Certificate of Participation following this activity that may be used for license renewal.
