3 Description The 12th Advances in Pediatric Nutrition is designed to provide the most updated, advanced and practical approaches to contemporary issues in pediatric nutrition. This activity will provide unique opportunities to learn, share and investigate new ways of assessing and managing pediatric patients with complex nutritional needs. Who Should Attend This activity is intended for pediatric dietitians, pediatricians, pediatric gastroenterologists, pediatric pharmacists, pediatric nurses and other healthcare professionals with an interest in pediatric nutrition. Objectives After attending this activity, the participant will demonstrate the ability to: Describe tools available to identify malnutrition in the hospitalized pediatric population. Describe the role of the microbiome in various disease conditions (obesity, allergy, prematurity). Identify appropriate considerations for the use of gluten free diets. Describe approaches and techniques for supporting healthy childhood eating behaviors. List the top concerns in the nutritional management of various metabolic disorders. 4 Credit Designation Statement The designates this live activity for a maximum of AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Other Credit This live activity is eligible for 12.5 CPEUs with the Commission on Dietetic Registration. American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit from organizations accredited by the ACCME. American Academy of Nurse Practitioners National Certification Program accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit from organizations accredited by the ACCME. This continuing medical education activity has been reviewed by the American Academy of Pediatrics and is acceptable for a maximum of AAP credits. These credits can be applied toward the AAP CME/CPD Award available to Fellows and Candidate Members of the American Academy of Pediatrics. American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) accepts certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit from organizations accredited by ACCME. Physician assistants may receive a maximum of AAPA Category 1 CME credits for completing this program. The Johns Hopkins University has approved this activity for contact hours for non-physicians. Continuing Medical Education credit is being requested from other applicable medical specialty organizations. Social Event National Aquarium Monday, November 7, :30 p.m. 9:30 p.m. The National Aquarium has been a gem in the very heart of Baltimore s Inner Harbor. This is a complimentary reception for registrants and faculty. Guests are invited to attend at an additional charge of $50. The cut-off date is October 30, 2016 to order tickets. Please indicate your attendance on the registration form. Tickets are non-transferable and non-cancellable and are subject to the policies set forth by the National Aquarium. Late Fee and Refund Policy A $50 late fee applies to registrations received after 5:00 p.m. EST on November 2, A handling fee of $50 will be deducted for cancellation. An additional fee may apply for cancellation of other events, including workshops and social activities. Refund requests must be received by fax or mail by November 2, No refunds will be made thereafter. Transfer of registration to another Johns Hopkins activity in lieu of cancellation is not possible. Syllabus Registration includes a flash drive containing the slides and other conference materials. A link to the syllabus will be provided via shortly before the activity begins if you prefer to study or print the syllabus. A printed copy is available at the time of registration for an additional fee of $35. Cancellations or refunds for the printed copy will not be permitted. Evaluation and Outcomes Survey Post activity, an online evaluation form will be available to attendees to evaluate the activity and individual presentations and identify future educational needs. Upon completion of the evaluation, the learner must attest to the number of hours in attendance Credits earned will be added to the learner s transcript and immediately available for print. A survey will be sent to all physician attendees within three months post activity to assist us in determining what impact this activity had on the learner s practice.
