The program contains the most current federal regulations and practices based on the INS 4 th Edition Standards.
AGENDA OVERVIEW 4 Day 1- General Infusion Education Day 2- Competency Booths with hands-on demonstration of IV techniques Day 3- Developing and Marketing an Infusion Program
INFUSION BASICS 5
6
Infusion Standards.Best Practices 7 Intravenous Nurse Society (INS) is recognized as the global authority in infusion therapy, dedicated to exceeding the public s expectations of excellence by setting the standard for infusion care. As the basis for professional nursing practice, infusion nurses are reminded that they must have knowledge of their scope of practice as defined in their states Nurse Practice Acts. Nurses must follow their agency s policies, procedures and/or practice guidelines, while acting in conformity with federal, state and regulatory agencies. Due to the invasive nature and risks associated with infusion therapy, nurses must have a basic understanding of the specialty and the principles that are implied for safe practice.
