This lecture will cover diagnosis of pathology, how to determine the appropriate treatment, and surgical management. It will conclude with case presentations. 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m. OCULAR ONCOLOGY 2018: ADVANCED MANAGEMENT AND IMPROVED OUTCOMES FOR OUR PATIENTS Tim Murray, MD, MBA This course will present a clinical update on advanced management of intraocular malignancy with a focus on pediatric retinoblastoma and adult melanoma. 12:15-1:00 p.m. LUNCH: NORMAN S 1:00-2:00 p.m. CO-MANAGEMENT LIABILITY EXPOSURES AND RISK MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES Hans Bruhn, MHS This course will identify the medical malpractice liability risk exposures associated with patient co-management and how to mitigate those patient safety issues. 2:00-3:00 p.m. PRINCIPLES OF FLUORESCEIN ANGIOGRAPHY AND RARE CASES Mark Erickson, CRA Angiographic features will be discussed along with identification consistent with the most common eye diseases and conditions. Angiographic principles and the anatomical aspects of fluorescein angiography, differences between atrophic and exudative age-related macular degeneration and non-proliferative vs. proliferative diabetic retinopathy will be discussed. It will provide the technician with the knowledge and skills to prevent errors and provide the most accurate information to the physician by recognizing factors that influence accuracy while performing the patient work up.
