2 The MS Statewide ESF8 Healthcare Coalition and the 9-Planning Coalitions Definition: A collaborative network of healthcare organizations working in conjunction with Emergency Management and respective public and private sector response partners to serve as a multi-agency coordinating (MAC) to assist with preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation activities related to healthcare organization disaster operations.
3 The MS Statewide ESF8 Healthcare Coalition and the 9-Planning Coalitions Purpose: The Healthcare Coalition and Planning Coalitions, working in conjunction with Emergency Management, provide a healthcare system-wide approach to prepare for, respond to, and recover from incidents that have a public health and medical impact in the short and long-term.
4 The MS Statewide ESF8 Healthcare Coalition and the 9-Planning Coalitions Function: To support local, district and statewide healthcare system and emergency management activities involving the whole community. This includes building partnerships, planning, training, exercises and evaluation.
