Slinkard EHS Team Leader Site Director 1. PURPOSE To provide emergency medical services for work related or non-work related illnesses/ injuries at the McIntosh Site. 2. DEFINITIONS 2.1. ALS Advanced Life Support 2.2. Employee An individual who performs services for, and under the direction and control of, BASF Corporation. Such direction and control includes the results to be accomplished and the methods and means by which results are accomplished Contract or Contractor Employee A contract or contractor employee shall be defined as a non-basf employee Life Threatening and/or Serious Medical Emergency Any medical emergency, which could result in death, if not handled promptly by a healthcare professional. Injuries or illnesses, which may include, but are not limited to, any unresponsive person, or a responsive person having pressure or pain in the chest, difficulty breathing, severe abdominal pain or an altered level of responsiveness. Incidents involving major mechanisms of injury to head, neck, spine, painful swollen deformed limbs; and serious bleeding Non-Life Threatening Medical Emergency Any medical emergency with no signs of any serious illness/ injury as listed in section 2.3. Examples may include, but are not limited to, minor lacerations, pulled muscles, possible foreign body in eye, and skin irritation from chemical exposure Emergency Response Team The ERT is trained and equipped to respond to emergency medical (EMS) incidents. BASF runs a State licensed ALS ambulance service. Paramedics and EMTs respond to all EMS incidents on site Alarm Activation The emergency system may be activated by any person on site that identifies that a possible emergency exists. Personnel should not hesitate to call the emergency extension (2222 or 2223) or the Incident Commander (IC) on Emergency Net when a suspected emergency is noted. The safety of the site and

2 Procedure No.: MC Page: 2 of 7 3. SCOPE the community may depend upon the quick response of the Emergency Response Team and the immediate reactions of site personnel. Applies to all BASF, contract and contractor employees at the McIntosh Site. 4. PROCEDURE (BASF EMPLOYEES) 4.1. Notification of Work Related Injury Employees During work hours contact Supervisor or call Emergency extension 2222 or 2223 with: Location of medical emergency Type of medical emergency (i.e., responsive/non-responsive, breathing difficulty, fall, cut, or chemical burn) Designate co-worker to wait outside of building/area to direct emergency personnel to location of emergency If injury is noted after work hours contact Supervisor or Incident Commander immediately Supervisors During work hours contact Incident Commander and Operations Manager/Leader After work hours contact Incident Commander, EHS Team Leader/onduty EHS specialist, as well as, Operations Manager/Leader Incident Commander Incident Commander will activate Emergency Response Team (ERT) for immediate assistance via site radio. Incident Commander will contact Medical Dept. 4.2 Emergency Management Protocol In all cases, the immediate and proper medical care for the employee is the first priority. Nothing in this procedure should be construed to delay calls to emergency medical responders following serious or life-threatening events. In all cases, a notification should be made with the site nurse or designee (Manager Emergency Response, Incident Commander, EHS Team Leader or EHS Safety Lead). Note: During life-threatening events, this can be done during transport. In other non-life-threatening situations, contact with the site nurse or designee should be made prior to transport to determine appropriate treatment.

5 Procedure No.: MC Page: 5 of Family Notification Employee will contact family if needed and if able to do so IC will gather basic event facts and injury status, including name of injured, nature of injury, treatment rendered on-site and name of hospital and transporter for employee requiring off-site treatment. Prepare basic scripts for notification/employee communications. Confine statements to medical conditions and treatment status; do not discuss details of the accident that caused the injury. IC will contact HR Manager who will be responsible for family notifications if employee is not capable of doing so. 5. PROCEDURE (CONTRACTOR/CONTRACT EMPLOYEE) 5.1 BASF will provide initial response to injury or illness. 5.2 If further treatment beyond, first aid, the employee will be transitioned to the contractor or contract company. 5.3 The contractor/contract company will follow their injury/medical management best practice plan in accordance with BC Medical Case Management Plan Section RESPONSIBILITIES Site Manager is primarily responsible for implementation of this procedure Site Emergency Response Coordinator is designated by the Site Manager as having responsibility for the site s Medical Emergency Response planning and administration of this procedure at the site. Site EHS Team Leader coordinates administration of this procedure at the site with the Site Manager and Site Medical Program Contact. Anyone working on BASF property is required to report any work injury/illness to their supervisor immediately. 7.
