2 Message from the Organising Chairman It is our pleasure to welcome you to the 10th ASEAN & 7th Perak Health Conference on Primary Health Care which is to be held from 21st to 23rd July 2017 at the Kinta Riverfront Hotel, Ipoh, Perak. As we progress to our 10th ASEAN Conference, the Perak Medical Practioners Society together with the Postgraduate Medical Education Society, Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital have now collaborated with the Malaysian Association of Public Health Physicians (Perak Branch) to organise this year s conference on primary health care. This would make it the biggest meeting on health care in Perak this calendar year. The theme for this conference Private-Public Partnership in Primary Health Care comes at a time when there would be much desired cooperation and collaboration between the private and public sectors in forging better and efficient provision of health services to everyone in need. The Scientific Committee, under the stewardship of Dr V Paranthaman, Dr A Subashini and Dr Choong Choon Hooi has gone into great details to cover as wide and as many topics of interest as possible given the time frame of this conference. The scientific programme will consists of pre- and congress workshops, plenaries and concurrent symposia. Distinguished and renowned speakers will share their knowledge, expertise and give us an update on topics concerned. Ipoh has been voted on many occasions as one of the best ASEAN/ Asian cities. Its old world charm and booming hipster cafés have impressed the largest travel guide book publisher, Lonely Planet to rank it a top ten destination. Applicants should submit their abstracts in duplicate to the Conference Secretariat using the Abstract Form. The deadline is 30 June Abstract should contain work that has not been previously published. 4. Abstract will not be accepted without payment of registration fees. If the abstract is subsequently not accepted for presentation, the fee will be refunded to the author upon request. 5. Sample arrangement of abstracts:- TITLE OF PAPER IN CAPITAL LETTERS Full name of all authors in upper and lower cases. Surnames in capital letters, with name of presenting author underlined. Department/Hospital/ Institution/Country of first author. Leave 3 spaces before starting on text abstract. Text of abstract should begin with a statement of main purpose of the study, preferably in one sentence. A statement of methods used should follow. A summary of the results should be presented in an easily comprehensible manner to support the conclusions. Graphs, tables or references should not be included in the abstract. Text of abstract should not exceed 250 words (inclusive of title, authors and institutions). IMPORTANT Please avoid erasures, strike-overs and editorial errors because this original abstract will be used for photo-offset printing. 6. The final selection will be the responsibility of the scientific committee. The Scientific Committee reserves the right to select papers for presentation. 7.
