Medical Simulation Orientation Familiarization with IMSE s METI ECS Simulation Manikin Getting to know the Simulator

Aims and Goals of Orientation To allow participants to familiarize themselves with the mannequin and equipment prior to actual simulation training session To understand some of the realism and limitations of the simulation to optimize the simulation experience

It is REAL until proven otherwise. Reminder

Reminders All responses and the lack of responses during the simulation training should be taken as the real clinical response and verbal feedback will be provided only when appropriate via the mannequin Participants will not be prompted unless deem necessary by the controller

Reminders Interventions: Perform any and all airway intervention (e.g. intubation, LMA insertion) as you would in the real world. Administration of drugs participants are required to state the drug, the route and the dose prior to administration the drugs via the intravenous cannula.
