C UPHD wrked with the schl district t infrm and educate parents n Pertussis as well as, increasing surveillance effrts t identify additinal cases and treat clse cntacts. C UPHD als wrked with lcal prviders t prvide recmmendatins n Pertussis evaluatin, testing, and treatment. Nrvirus Investigated three utbreaks f Nrvirus; tw f the utbreaks were in the district at Helia Healthcare and Illini Heritage. The third utbreak was in the cunty at Rantul Headstart. Based n the investigatin, the mde f transmissin was persn t persn in all three utbreaks Scabies investigated suspected scabies utbreak at Champaign Cunty Nursing Hme all three specimens submitted fr testing resulted negative residents still received prphylactic treatment Varicella utbreak was investigated at the University f Illinis Cllege f Engineering Cmmunity Outreach Awais Vaid presented at the Carle Fundatin Day. 3 Emergency Respnse E Emergency Respnse Planning Jane helped EH develp a rapid alert ntificatin t the restaurants regarding an increase in nrvirus utbreaks within the cunty. We used a Spanish and English versin. Leadership Staff were asked t cmplete their IS 808 trainings. All Hazards Emergency Plans have begun the review. Starcm Drills Participated in: Regin 6 hspital. Nv. 6 IDPH. Nv. 7 Cmmunity Outreach/Resiliency and Vlunteer Management: Jane submitted an applicatin fr the Natinal Leadership and Public Health (NLAPH) training prgram. This is an unfunded pprtunity, but wrks with Jane, Cunty EMA, American Red Crss, and Carle Hspital (Our Cmmunity Partners) t develp a cuntywide vlunteer management prgram and manage the spntaneus vlunteers in an emergency. The gal is t build leadership qualities within the public health and extended healthcare system. The NLAPH is part f the Centers fr Disease Cntrl and Preventin. Statewide Outreach and Prgram Develpment:
4 Jane went t Springfield t assist the Illinis Terrrism Task Frce and IAPHA t cmplete the Threat and Hazard Identificatin Risk Assessment and begin develping training pieces fr the Fatality Management Curses taught by IEMA. She has learned the Jint Operatinal Planning Framewrk, which allws fr mre cmprehensive apprach t emergency preparedness planning cuntywide.
