1 METROPLEX HEALTH SYSTEM Student Nurse Tech Program Thank you for your interest in the Student Nurse Tech Program (SNTP) at Metroplex Health System. This program entails your being hired by the hospital to perform a service unlike a Certified Nursing Assistant, which eliminates the hassle of taking the certification exam. You will need to commit to one shift a week with a preceptor. Additional hours will be scheduled on an as needed basis, according to the needs of the unit. You must have completed the first two semesters of clinical/theory courses with passing grades. Benefits of this program: 1. Increase in clinical skills and exposure to clinical situations 2. Ability to become a member of a quickly growing healthcare team 3. Ability to earn vested time as an employee toward retirement 4. Access to continuing education at no cost to you 5. Access to receiving tuition reimbursement once you have established yourself as a committed employee How to apply: 1. Complete the Metroplex Health System application for employment for the Student Nurse Tech program, including the questionnaire 2. Complete two instructor endorsement forms, both of which must be from clinical instructors 3. Submit a completed skills checklist that is comparable to the one in this packet, or have a clinical instructor complete the one in this packet 4. Submit certified college transcripts with a grade point average of 2.5 or better Once you have completed all of the above, turn the packet into our Human Resources Department and wait for a call to interview. It is helpful if you have an answering machine, since you will probably receive the call during daytime working hours. If not, check back periodically for information regarding your status. Again, thank you for your interest in our program. We wish you the best of luck in your current and future endeavors. Sincerely, Shari K. Larson, RN, BSN Nurse Recruiter
