This two-day symposium will feature outstanding speakers covering a broad range of topics including risks and benefits of the use of proton pump inhibitors, sepsis and fluid balance, medication therapy management (MTM), automatic drug dispensing in health care systems, the relationship between pharmacy and the pharmaceutical industries, discuss general changes to Texas State Board of Pharmacy rules specific to Class A, B and Class C pharmacies, Hepatitis C, rapid identification of pathogens and resistance markers, multidisciplinary approach to diagnosis and treatment of colorectal cancer, management in emergency and chronic asthma, therapeutic updates in HIV treatments, evidence-based psychopharmacological treatments of bipolar disorder, factors that increase the reliability of clinical trial results, medication reconciliation to improve medication outcomes and the emergence of novel antimicrobial agents. This symposium also offers one hour of law and safety.
