2 Free Care On A Massive Scale Vision Dental Medical Provides Care For The Underserved Eye exams through to prescription glasses Dental procedures including cleanings, fillings and extractions Medical exams and procedures including women s health, immunizations and screenings.
3 Free Care On A Massive Scale Education Prevention Follow-up Provides Prevention and Education Extensive prevention and education resources are available at the Free Clinic Events. Nutritional education, smoking cessation, HIV testing, oral health, diabetes care, eye health and more Patients who need a medical home will have a doctor s appointment scheduled before leaving the event

6 How it works Wrist Band Process: Wrist bands are given out typically the weekend before Three different colors represent a day the patient will attend the free clinic Approximately 1,000 patients per day All patients are eligible for Medical services Patients will choose between Dental or Vision, they cannot have both.
7 How it works Triage Electronic Medical Record All patients with a colored wristband corresponding to that day may enter All patients will go through triage and an EMR is created All Vision Patients will receive a number The Vision Clinic will call patients into the Vision waiting area in groups of 30 Patients waiting for their number to be called will be able to explore the Patient Education Area

Station 2: Two Auto Refractor & Two Lensometers Station 3: 15 Refracting Lanes DO and Pressure Check Station 4: Eye Health Optometry/ Ophthalmology Vision Clinic Station 5: Select Frames and/or OTC Readers Station 6: Check out of the Vision Clinic

10 The Vision Clinic FAQ 1. How do you calculate how many patients can be examined in Vision? A: The number of Refracting stations with O.D.s x 4 in an hour x 8 hours 2. What equipment will Care Harbor provide? A: Care Harbor has all of the equipment necessary to provide a high quality eye exam. Portable phoropters, stands, slit lamps, tonometers, autorefractors and lensometer 3. What equipment should I bring? A: We recommend you bring a BIO, Condensing lenses (90 or Superfield), Direct Ophthalmoscope and a pen light. Remember to label them clearly with your name.
11 The Vision Clinic FAQ 4.Will there be shifts? A: Yes. There will be a morning shift (7 1) and an afternoon shift (12:30 6:30). The morning shift will be asked to stay until their replacements arrives and to provide some overview training to that person. The afternoon person will be asked to stay until all the patients are through the refracting area. 5. Can I volunteer all day? A: YES! 6. Will food be provided? A: Yes. Breakfast for AM shift and Lunch for PM shift. We recommend you also bring a snack such as an energy bar. Bottled water will be available at each station. 7.
