1 About Hospice Clinical ientation: The Hospice Clinical ientation (HCO) Program is provided f new hospice clinical employees to give them the knowledge and tools needed to provide the highest level of quality care and service to patients, their families and caregivers. A new hospice clinician will complete the overall Hospice Clinical ientation in a time span that best suits the new employee. The HCO program is designed in a blended learning approach. In this manner, the new Hospice clinician will reach milestones that enable them to become proficient in certain areas quickly. Hospice clinicians must reach proficiency in their current week befe moving fward to the next week s assignment. Instructions f all Hospice ientation Virtual Classes Follow these instructions to ensure a successful ientation experience: Registration f all Virtual sessions is completed through KindredatHomeLearning.com and should occur 24 hours pri to start time. Training Material: Course handouts are available in KindredatHomeLearning.com > Class Materials. Print the Handouts and bring them to class. Please join the virtual class at least min pri to the scheduled start time. (Start times are listed in EASTERN TIME (3P ET = 2P CT = 1P MT = 12N PT) Attendees are to join the class via both audio & virtual components at least 5 10 minutes pri to start time To get credit f attending the class you must: be enrolled in the event, be in the classroom f the entire class, sign in on the designated Roster, and dialed into the phone conference line. o You cannot achieve attendance credit by only listening on the phone partial phone/classroom attendance! Technical Issues: you may contact the Help Desk (Kindred , Gentiva ) Only launch the Virtual Class through KindredatHomeLearning.com (do not use the link within the confirmation sent by Relias) Go to My Learning > Current Training tab Locate the Course Title and select > Go To Event Print Class Materials if you have not yet done so Click Start to Launch Virtual Class (opens ADOBE CONNECT ) Click Enter as a Guest > Name (type in your full First and Last Name), Click Enter Room Dial into the Audio Conference Line o Participant Codes can be found under the event s + Me Properties. o Once dialed in, place phone on MUTE (dial *6 on keypad to MUTE / UNMUTE call) o Do NOT place the call on HOLD o Read infmation and instructions found in the classroom o Sign the Roster (Full Legal Name, Role/Title, and Program Location) then press Enter o Print any optional handouts available in the classroom as necessary o Answer any Poll Questions listed o Notify the Facilitat immediately if you experience difficulties: phone hang up & dial back, computer close programs and launch KindredatHomeLearning.com Questions about the Hospice ientation process content, please direct them to: Hospice.ientation@Gentiva.com 1 P age
