2 Record # : 9454 Position: SUBSTANCE ABUSE COUNSELOR I Date: 1/8/2018 Program: REACH Clinic Hours: Full Time- 8:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. Hillside Children s Center s Varick Campus has a full time opening for a Substance Abuse Counselor in Romulus, NY. This is a full time position, Monday Friday, generally 8am to 4pm, but hours can be flexible for evenings and weekends. Candidates must have the ability to travel between campuses. The Substance Abuse Counselor is responsible for the screening, assessment and delivery of individual and group therapy to our youth and their families. Essential functions of this job include, but are not limited to: Providing group services to youth and their families per the treatment plan. Working as a team member in assessing a child's/youth's/family's needs and is responsible for developing, assessing and modifying the individual service plan in collaboration with the child/youth/ family and multidisciplinary treatment team. Utilizing experience, education, age-specific knowledge and cultural competence in order to assess and treat clients to achieve positive and successful outcomes and routinely successfully uses problem-solving skills with self and others. Develops, maintains and updates all required documentation in a timely manner. This position minimal requires a high school diploma/ged and CASAC certification. The TA also works in conjunction with the teacher to maintain a positive classroom learning environment to support the academic, emotional, and social growth of students. Essential functions of this role include, but are not limited to: Works with individual students or groups of students requiring special instruction. Works with the classroom teacher to identify information about specific students in order to develop appropriate teaching plans and learning experiences for students. Assists in preparation of instructional resources and aids students in the use of these resources. The Clinician will work on a team, assessing a youth's/family's needs, and is responsible for developing, assessing and modifying the individual service plan in collaboration with the youth/family and multi-disciplinary treatment team. Clinician I/II responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Demonstrated ability to diagnose and treat children/youth and families. Provides individual and group therapy, including structured and process groups, within a variety of settings, based on group/client needs and Clinician credentials. Depending on level of experience, provide clinical consultation and training to staff. Relied upon as the primary contact for the service plan, and is able to expertly and succinctly communicate at all levels both orally and in writing. Develops, maintains and updates all required documentation in a timely manner. Meets the highest standards for ethical and professional conduct at all times and towards all. May work a variable schedule including evenings and weekends. CLINICIAN I or II QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counselor or related field required. NYS Professional License in area of study preferred or must be license eligible upon hire. 1-3 years of experience is required for Clinician I candidates. 3-5 years of experience is required for Clinician II candidates. Hillside Children s Center has an opening for a full time Coordinator of 4H. The Coordinator of 4H is responsible for the overall care of livestock. This will include the selection of appropriate feed, evaluation of animal health, vaccinations and tagging/ tattooing to meet New York State requirments and the cleanliness of the barn area, patures and greenhouse. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Works with recreation department to ensure that our youth have activities that provide skill development that is fun, challenging, and educational. Responsible for assisting staff with 4H youth projects. Will evaluate youth the ensure they are working with animals appropriate for their skill level. Will create opportunities for youth to work with 4H projects in the community. Provide professional expertise in the area of animal husbandry, animal care and related training.
