This session will address the issue of multiple pressing priorities and how to factor balance and calmness into the decision-making process. ACCOMMODATING DIABETES & CELIAC DISEASE AMANDA SWEET, Monroe 1 BOCES Ms. Sweet, a cook-manager, lives with Celiac Disease and diabetes. She knows the importance of making dietary accommodations. She will talk about reading nutrition labels, being aware of hidden ingredients in the foods you eat, as well as the cause and effect they have on celiac disease and diabetes. REGULATIONS UPDATE DEBORAH BEAUVAIS RDN SNS, Gates-Chili, East Rochester & East Irondequoit School Districts Recently, Gates-Chili & East Rochester had the administrative review of their school s nutrition program. Now, Ms. Beauvais will update participants on how federal regulations are affecting school district meal programs and how the food service department is expected to police students and extra-curricular fundraisers to ensure compliance with federal nutrition standards. Record keeping (receipts, nutrition labels, product specifications) and wellness policies will also be discussed.
