Task 1 Research thoroughly the roles of the following in health and social care settings:- a) Doctor b) Nurse c) Midwife d) Health Care Assistant e) Social Worker f) Occupational Therapist g) Youth Worker h) Care Manager i) Support Worker j) Charity e.g. Mind, Hearing dogs for the deaf etc Include roles, responsibilities, skills and how they are governed and monitored. Ensure your research can answer the following questions:- How does each role Prevent discriminatory practice? Empower service users? Ensure Safety? Maintain communication? How they are monitored and by whom? Follow professional codes of practice? Produce a summary of your findings. (3 hours of work) Link to unit 2 A1. Task 2 Investigate minimum of three news stories where a health care professional has failed in their duty of care. Write a summary report to include the following what the issues where, who was to blame, what was the outcome and how are they moving forward. (1- Mid Staffs find 2 others yourself (2hours of work) Link to unit 2 A3 Task 3 Read the Health and Social Care Act 2012 and The NHS s role in the public s health: A report from the NHS future forum- summarise content (1hour) Link to unit 2 A2/3 Task 4 Complete exam questions to bring to first lesson back.
