3 1. Conducting Set Tasks Release date is the date on which tasks can be released to learners. Tasks that are printed and sent to centres in hardcopy will be sent in advance of this date and must be kept secure until the release date has passed. Where given, learners must complete work by the end of the window for supervised conditions. The submission deadline is the deadline for work to arrive at Pearson or the examiner (as appropriate to each task). The gap between the end of supervised conditions and the submission date is to allow for work to be collated, packaged and despatched. Where a task is shown with an AM or PM slot for the supervised period, the published starting time is either 9.00 a.m or 1.30 p.m. UK centres may start this period earlier than, or later than, the published starting time for the session without prior approval from Pearson. However, in order to maintain the security of the examination all candidates must start examinations scheduled for a morning session no earlier than 8.30 a.m. and by 9.30 a.m. and for an afternoon session no earlier than 1.00 p.m. and by 2.00 p.m., except where arrangements have been made for dealing with timetable clashes. No other departure from the timetable is permitted without the prior written approval of Pearson.
