3 ONS Radiation econference Then & Now WHAT IT S ALL ABOUT Approximately two-thirds of patients with cancer receive radiation therapy at some point in their care. And, like all aspects of cancer care, radiation treatment is constantly evolving and improving. The ONS Radiation econference will feature detailed information on radiation-related issues, focusing on Radiation Then and Now and how the specialty has evolved over the years and what its future holds. In addition to educational sessions, the Radiation econference will give you the opportunity to interact virtually in real time with other attendees, speakers, exhibitors, and more. CONFERENCE GOAL This econference will engage you in discussions about current trends in radiation oncology and the role of the radiation nurse in these therapies. Welcome CONFERENCE OBJECTIVES By the end of this econference, you will be able to: Summarize advances in radiation therapy for use in disease and symptom management. Identify innovative strategies to improve patient and staff safety related to radiation therapy. Participate in discussions about the nursing role in providing and measuring quality care for individual receiving radiation therapy. 3
4 CONTINUING NURSING EDUCATION Attendees can earn contact hours of continuing nursing education if all educational sessions are attended in their entirety and an evaluation is completed. ONS is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center s (ANCC s) Commission on Accreditation. Accreditation as an ANCC provider refers only to its continuing education activities and does not imply endorsement of any commercial products. ONS is approved as a provider of continuing education by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider #2850.
