The Public Health Officer (PHO) is a at-will positio appoited by the Board of Supervisors ad reports o a day-to-day basis to the Director of Health Services Agecy. This positio is subject to overtime, stadby ad callback assigmets. The PHO works closely with state ad federal agecies, the Couty Executive Office, HSA executives, support staff, ad other Couty departmets. I additio, the PHO plays a strategic ad critical role i collaboratig with emergecy maagemet departmets ad professioals, foudatios, committees, commuity-based orgaizatios, ad the commuity-at-large to set local priorities. The Public Health Officer serves as the medical subject matter expert for public health uder admiistrative oversight by the Director of the Health Services Agecy. The PHO is the primary commuity physicia ad provides techical cosultatio to public officials.

4 EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS Educatio/ Experiece Possessio of a valid Physicia s ad Surgeo s Certificate issued by the Board of Medical Quality Assurace of the State of Califoria, or able to acquire Califoria Status by appoitmet; AND Two years of experiece i a admiistrative capacity at a local, State Public Health Agecy, hospital, or like istitutio/ orgaizatio; AND Workig kowledge of public health scieces, specifically epidemiology, biostatistics ad/or materal, child ad adolescet health; evirometal ad Public Health medical sciece ad its applicatio; AND Possess ad maitai a valid Califoria Driver s Licese upo appoitmet.
