1 Clinical Education Site Information 2016 Each clinical site is responsible for setting their daily schedules. Any requests to change this schedule must be approved by both the site clinical specialist or RT manager and the RT Program Clinical Education Coordinator Important Information Required At All Sites See RT Resource Manual for complete dress code Professional dress code. Hospital Scrubs /Uniforms are mandatory. Please ensure your uniform is well fitting and the designated colour. Burgundy/Maroon. The University of Manitoba crest belongs on the upper top left side sleeve. Do not wear uniforms in public places after your shift, such as, to the grocery store, to the gym or on the bus. Please change at the site. Wash your uniforms regularly. Appearance must be neat and well-groomed, wear deodorant, shower daily. Please wear your U of M I.D., WRHA I.D. and mask fit-test I.D. at all times. Bring your stethoscope, a pad of paper, a pen, and a watch. Please be courteous to leave spots directly around the hospital for patients. You will be provided with OR scrubs to change into each day upon arrival. Please bring a set of scrubs as back-up.

Sick Line at (204) indicating that you are the Respiratory student There is a $10.00 refundable fee for key cards Please wear your scrubs Scent free facility Children s Rotation HSC Report to Children s Respiratory Therapy Department, 820 Sherbrook, CE-430, Shift :30 hours, 10-hour days four days per week Three 12 hour charge days will be scheduled The first day is an orientation day, meet with Aleeta Webber at 9:00 a.m. in CE-430 and she will orientate students to Children s Hospital and Women s Centre. Contact Information Call Department (204) or Aleeta (204) No watches, rings, false nails or nail polish are allowed in the clinical areas You will need a pen, a calculator and a small binder/duo tang to keep daily notes for this rotation at HSC. No stethoscope is required because you will use the ones provided in the clinical areas. Students can enter the patient parking lot either from Sherbrook or Broadway, there are 14 spaces available. It is requested that student s park as far as possible from the Main Entrance Doors to allow our patients best access. Wal-Mart does not allow parking An additional (non SOGH) parking lot and on street parking is available on Court Avenue. You will need an entrance card to access the staff entrance located in the north staff parking lot (facing Court Ave). A card can be obtained from Craig Hillier. A $20.00 refundable deposit is required for an entrance card. 6 Sleep Disorder Centre Rotation Report to the Sleep Disorder Centre at Misericordia Health Centre Shift hours on Tuesdays Please call Sharon Brown if unable to attend, phone at (204) The SDC is on the 3rd floor of the Wolseley Wing of the Misericordia Health Centre (MHC). Please take elevator D from the first floor to the 3rd floor, this elevator is near the Wolseley entrance. If using the parkade please proceed to the overpass second floor entrance. Take elevator B or stairs down to the first floor. Walk north to elevator D by Wolseley entrance. If the Urgent Care entrance off Cornish Avenue is utilized please proceed on the main floor to elevator D. Professional Dress Code St. Boniface Hospital (ICU & NICU) Report to the Respiratory Therapy Department, E2003-1, 409 Taché Avenue Shift hours 8 hour shifts Monday to Friday in place for ICU, adult and NICU, and on wards If unable to attend please call the department phone (204) or Shane at (204) Transport Team Rotation Report to the Interfacility Transport Team Office, GF-117A or GF-123 (located in the Green Owl Zone at HSC) Enter through 707 McDermot Street Entrance, turn right and take the first hallway to the right. Shift hours Tuesday to Friday If unable to attend please call Tricia Winton The doors to the department are always locked. If a Transport Team staff member is not in the department please check with Lynn in GF-141. If no one is available to assist you in GF-117, GF-123 or GF-141, please go to the HSC Adult Respiratory Department (GE-628) and telephone the Transport Office at (204) to leave a message stating you are upstairs. You will be contacted when a Transport Team member arrives in the department Bring a coat/jacket for transports during cooler weather.
