MAUA METHODIST HOSPITAL PROJECT UPDATE: FRIENDS AND PARTNERS: I bring you warm Christian greetings from in the name of our lord and saviour Jesus Christ, whom we serve. It is in my deepest hope that this note will find you well. I am pleased to give you an update on the outpatient clinic renovations that we are currently undertaking. The construction works began in February this year and we have achieved major progress in the overall project implementation The Hospital s objective is to improve the outpatient facilities and general physical infrastructure to make the hospital more user friendly, attractive to the clients and improve the overall working environment for the staff. The main projects are: Refi tting of the compressive care clinic ( CCC REFITTING) The CCC area takes care of HIV positive patients. We have created extra rooms and a seminar room. The works are 85% complete, we hope to roof and finish plastering in a few days. The old chest clinic has been renovated to fit more clinical rooms and will enjoy a new attractive look after completion. We are raising the roof and creating better corridors for patient movement. The washroom area, old palliative care clinical rooms will also be demolished to allow construction of a youth friendly centre. The centre will accommodate our youth and program teens. It will include an indoor games and sports room that will provide a room for positive interaction among the youth and teens. 2 Renovation of Old Kimatu house The old house has been redesigned and partitioned to house the new chest clinic. The roofing form work has been completed pending iron sheets and corridors walling to conclude. The overall completion is at 87%. Geode wing: The completion work was initiated last summer and the teams worked on priming the building with the first coat of paint; this time we have installed the window panes, built shelves for archives and ordered tiles for installation we are very thankful to the FOMH and Partners who have made the work of renovation/completion possible. We especially thankful to Chapel wood UMC for providing the funds to do the completion work to create private wards. The offices in the Geode wing will house the administration personnel, Finance department and the office of the CEO, hospital administrator and the CEO administrative assistant. Tiles have been procured and expected to be delivered next week... our target date for occupying the building is set on 30th of July, 2017 Completed Geode to house the Admin and finances offices

Projects started in New seminar room Ground broken and dedicated to the glory of God by the Searing Brown Foundation Texas USA, on July 13th, 2007 and for 7 years all the teams worked in the building 4 flats have been remaining.. These residence quarters have been completed in the last month when wall were plastered and floors polished. The remaining work consists of painting and completing the plumbing. These four units have been redesigned to have an open kitchen which will make them more spacious. 4 Aids Orphans Guardians volunteer to clean the hospital Early this week the hospital witnessed quite unusual thing so many grandmothers willing and offering to come and clean the hospital as their contribution and appreciation for the support they have gotten through the hospital they cut the bushes around the forest and the girls hostels of which the hospital management was very grateful. This summer the orphans who will be on summer vacation from school will join the teams to work in the hospital as volunteers. The hospital through the partners is educating 73 Orphans in Various secondary schools. Most of these children have very promising future and hope. Our objective has been to empower the most vulnerable children through education and provision of shelter to the most desperate and needy. I take this opportunity to thank everyone who contributes to the aids orphans project advance # for the support of these children.. As Christians we have the divine mandate to care for the orphans the scriptures calls the Christians to care for the orphans and the widows when the Jesus disciples of Jesus to send away the children, Jesus insisted they come to him Shelter project Through the kind gift of various teams and congregations, a total of 8 desperate aids orphans children will get a much needed gift of a house...in addition global aids through Don Mensor two additional houses will be constructed. These homes are located on property owned by the children s extended family who will agree to be their guardian. This program has been in existence for many years and continues to be important for sustaining children who have lost their parents to AIDS.
