3 WELCOME! Welcome to your Senior Year in Healthcare Occupations and Technology. Our goal during this year is to provide you with a strong foundation leading into a healthcare career of your choosing. Our main educational focus is on Medical Terminology throughout the year with the opportunity in the second semester to gain 3 college credit hours through dual enrollment in the on line course through Stark State College. We will also be working on certain Medical Assisting skills such as obtaining EKG s, phlebotomy, finger sticks for glucose, urine specimens, and etcetera. Another focus is on Medical Math. For those who will be entering college, this math review will help refresh and reinforce basic math skills used in life and in medicine. Incorporated with all of these is an emphasis on Professionalism. Attendance, punctuality, preparedness, attitude, and adherence to dress code are all part of a professionalism grade. We, the teachers in the Perry High School Healthcare Occupations and Technology Program, are committed to helping you do your best in this program. Feel free to contact any of us at any time. We have an open door policy and are happy to help our students or answer questions as needed.
