21 EIT Health Think Tank Which barriers to innovation need to be overcome in order to tackle the future burden of chronic diseases on healthcare systems and their sustainability? Format : European Round Table dialogue, 2-3 regional round tables over the year (dialogues with Health Care Provider, Policy Makers, Payers etc.) Aim: agree on focus areas where both HCP, regions and payers are willing to invest in innovation. Identify barriers and strategies to remove them. First issues: potentially: big data / performance based payment / innovative financing Outcome: Dialogue between demand and supply side of health innovation, setting priority areas and needs/focus. Potential outcomes projects collaborations with regions/cities for implementation, topics for policy makers, white papers, publications etc
