Communication received late. Activity Agreement, payment, and all planning documents must be submitted with the APNA no later than 60 days prior to the activity date or late fees apply. 2 Focus for Year and Activity documents submitted within 30 days of the activity are not eligible for contact hours. Goals: Revitalize and remodel GA Chapter. Suggestions: Quarterly CEU programs. 2 CEU activities per year instead of quarterly. School of Nursing at EWWH location for events since parking is not an issue on weekends. However, anyone can share idea on sites for programs. Designate one meeting to invite speakers to educate members on the community resources available to us. Mental health screening in-services for CEUs 1 st CEU program to start Feb/March st program should be held at a Emory location since most members are Emory employees. All activities suggestions must be approved by APNA prior to engagement. Tracy- volunteered to help contact prior members. Kim: will contact Chapter Support RE: engagement in community programs as part of Chapter Revitalization. Pat: will check on CEU template from APNA. Pat: Invite Jennifer Phillips to talk about NAMI organization at GA NAMI event. Feedback from Presidents Call on September 10, 2018 There is a 7% Increase in APNA membership over last year. Chapters have $325, 000 on deposit, $225,000 is deposited in a CD. Monthly financial report will be sent to Chapter presidents. and treasurers. APNA require 3 business days to process request. Chapter presidents breakfast will be held on Friday October 26 at 7:00am eastern. Kim Butts to attend as one of the leaders of GA chapter 2 P age

3 Chapter meetings at the conference will occur on October 26, from 6:30pm - 7:30pm eastern Chapter competency based training for suicide prevention 13 out of 17 competency based training have been held. Initiatives: Workforce Committee: The committee will be chaired by Dawn Vanderhoef from Vanderbilt. The committee will work on determining how many Psychiatric Mental Health Nurses (PMHN) exist and how they are distributed. Image: A public relations firm has been hired to assist in the placement of media that demonstrate the positive contributions of PMH nurses. Community Outreach: The Council for Safe Environments is working on creating an outreach package to include slide decks and suggested scripts. The goal is to help APNA members go out into the community via Lions clubs, rotary clubs, schools, church groups, etc. and make the presence of PMHNs more prominent. We expect this information to be available at the end of the 2019 first quarter. A dry run was held in Falls Church last week. Manuscripts: Four manuscripts have been created from the presentations at the Health Policy Summit in February. A professional science writer has been procured and the manuscripts have been submitted to the JAPNA Journal for publication. We anticipate that they ll be published early next year 3 P age

MAAPPNG Traci attending the MAAPPNG meeting on September 25, The second psychiatric nurses organization, Moving Ahead with Advanced Practice Psychiatric Nurses in Georgia (MAAPPNG) Contact: Anicia Bigelow, or Mick Chitchawal Sahatevasukont, There were about 25 people at the MAAPPNG meeting about 1/3 retired CNS, 1/3 students and 1/3 currently working. The value of APNA for me (conferences/education committee I am on, etc.) and stated that the GA group would be interested to partner with MAAPPNG for events. Namita and Pat to meet on Friday to sign. The new president is Mick Sahatevasukont. He is a former student of mine. The new secretary is Lisa Walsh and a previous GA APNA member. Historically MAAPPNG was for APRN's in psych but they opened up enrollment a few years ago to all psych nurses. Cost to join MAAPPNG is much less than APNA so that may be an attraction for some - $60 with $10 for students. They plan to do four meetings a year - bring a drug company in to talk about a medication. They have done conferences in the past and seemed open to partner with APNA on that. They talked about speakers and had some great ideas. Community Initiatives Community outreach. Possible sites Johns Creek Methodist Church host a peer support group. 5 or Annette's Church. Possible to start this in the new year Feb/March Symposium: Location???, Possible date April 27 or May 4th. Possible topic: Suicide prevention, TJC affiliation and ligature risk, Peer support, NAMI Cost???? CEU??? Speakers for events???? Guidelines to proceed with symposium???? possibility of APNA to present. Carolyn to discuss venue with School of Nursing Pat to reach out to TJC affiliate as well as NAMI rep. Pat to contact chapter support RE: guidelines for symposium.
