3 Learning Environment (Cluster) / Practice Experience Philosophy or Mission Statement We believe we are a caring, compassionate ward, providing excellent, evidence based individual care. We have student nurses on secondment and student doctors on placement gaining experience. As a multi-disciplinary team we work well together to give the best possible care. Description of the Service we provide and Client groups who may access it: Shawford Ward provides care mostly for respiratory patients and other medical conditions. Other areas of interest and related experience available We arrange time with the Respiratory Nurse, Bereavement Officer,Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, Discharge Liaison and Dietian. Chance to see Thorocosopy, Broncoscopy and Oesophagogastroduodenoscopy (OGD) OUR EXPECTATIONS OF LEARNERS WHILST ON THIS PRACTICE EXPERIENCE: To help in the general care of our patients. Learning to work in a Multi-disciplinary team. To gain knowledge of respiratory patients and other medica l conditions. Admission and discharge of patients. To be prompt and smart while on the ward.
