Mission Statement Juneau Alliance for Mental Health, Inc. is dedicated to the design and provision of efficient, effective, person-centered behavioral healthcare solutions and assisting individuals in maximizing recovery from mental health and co-occurring disorders.
4 JAMHI provides the following broad range of services and supports: Emergency Services (24/7) Case Management/Rehabilitation Services Psychiatric and Nursing Services General Mental Health Services Enhanced Residential Services Drop-In Center
5 Emergency Services 24 hour Emergency Mental Health Services Immediate screening and crisis intervention. On-site Emergency Response at Bartlett Regional Hospital, JAMHI offices/facilities; schools, Lemon Creek Correctional Center, Juneau Youth Services, and other local social service agencies. Assessment of mental status and risk of harm to self or others Referral recommendations. Short-term, term, intensive psychiatric services during acute mental health crisis episodes.
6 Case Management Services Community support for severely mentally ill clients provided by 3 Case Managers. Training in life skills to encourage independent living. On-going service coordination within community and region. General Mental Health Services Individual & group brief therapy & counseling provided by 3 Clinicians with grant from CBJ. Services provided to 210 General Mental Health clients, of 345 total clients served.
7 Psychiatric & Nursing Services Psychiatric assessment, medication management, & case consultation with contracted BRH psychiatrists. Psychiatrists part of Emergency Services team providing 24/7, on-call psychiatric consultation. Registered Nurse staff (1.5 FTE): Assess clients psychiatric & side effect symptoms and oversee medications provided to clients in JAMHI residential programs. Nurses provide intra-muscular medications, education, support, & screening for other medical and dental needs as required.
8 Enhanced Residential Services Lemon Creek Residential Facilities: Salmonberry House Group home serving up to five individuals with severe mental illness. (24/7 staff) Salmon Creek Residential Facilities: 8 Plex for Individuals with Co-occurring occurring Disorders Provides support for chronically mentally ill adults, with severe substance abuse issues. 8 Plex for Seniors with mental illness and /or co- occurring disorders. Salmon Creek Housing, Inc. -- Group home serving up to six individuals with severe mental illness who require support, structure and monitoring. (24/7 staff)
9 Independent Housing Services JAMI Douglas Housing (Douglas Terrace)- Independent housing for up to 15 residents. Salmon Creek Independent Housing- 16 one-bedroom apartments for Severely Mentally Ill Adults Lemon Creek Independent Housing- 4 two-bedroom apartments for severely mentally ill adults Drop-In Center Located in the JAMHI Salmon Creek Group Home. Open 12:00am 2:00 pm daily. Light lunch provided daily. Rehabilitation & treatment/support groups include: Community living skills Interpersonal communication skills Personal living skills Nutrition and meal planning
10 New Programming Efforts Timberline Group Home: 3-bed group setting at Lemon Creek provides structure, safety, & monitoring to persons with Severe Mental Illness who may be a danger to self or others. Case Management to access necessary supports including psychiatric, medical and other healthcare appointments, and coordination with landlords and entitlement programs as needed (Case Mgmt.) for up to 2 hours per day. Observation, supervision, and monitoring to ensure safety of client and others (Coping( Skill Development Assistance) for up to 14 hours per day. Daily medication administration and oversight by JAMHI nurse for up to 1 hour per day
