Good Reminder to us All... Submitted by: Sara Maciej, Secretary "Nursing is an art: and if it is to be made an art, it requires an exclusive devotion as hard a preparation as any painter's or sculptor's work; for what is the having to do with dead canvas or dead marble, compared with having to do with the living body, the temple of God's spirit? It is one of the Fine Arts: I had almost said, the finest of Fine Arts." Florence Nightingale Membership : What we do for you! Submitted by: Madi Sieben, Membership Chair As of March 1st, 2018, we have 154 members in the West Central MN Oncology nursing society, and we would love to expand more! We are always welcoming new members and trying to get current members more involved. We have a mix of informative meetings and fun activities throughout the year. Also, did you know that students can get a free membership? If you or anyone else you know is interested in joining, please feel free to connect with me!
4 West Central Minnesota Oncology Nursing Society Page 4 Social Media : Have you seen us? Submitted by: Jill Massmann Social Media Chair The social media chair was previously combined with the program chair. The board decided the role should now be a separate board role. I am your new social media chair. The goal of the social media chair is to keep everyone up to date on events and activities both within the chapter and events that may be outside of the chapter but apply to oncology nurses. This will be done using both the virtual community ( and Facebook page (@WCMONS). As a board, it is our goal to have events posted at least 60 days in advance of the event date. I am also working on reorganizing the virtual community so it is easier for everyone to find the information they are looking for. I would appreciate if anyone has events that apply to oncology nursing to share those on our pages as well. I am able to help with the sharing portion if I have the information As a reminder, if you are not receiving notifications from the VC you can log into the WCMONS virtual community website and click on the link to the left side log-on to manage your s subscriptions. Subscribing to the chapter mailing list will automatically add the address that is associated with the member s ONS profile to the chapter mailing list. Please contact ONS or myself with any questions. *Don t forget to share and like our Facebook page! Humerous Section Submitted by: Sara Maciej, Secretary
