Bhagat Computer Science Dept. DMIETR Wardha, India bhagat.preetee@gmail.com Abstract Hospitals and clinic deals with the health of their patients. Medical personnel may not offer the best treatment without accurate, comprehensive up-to-date and accessible patient case notes. This system provides features like collecting, storing and maintaining all records of their patients and hence also proves to be more comprehensive, integrated information system, designed to manage the administrative, financial and clinical aspects of the hospital. The main objective of this project is to reduce the record handling efforts, easy to retrieving patient history and reduce the time consumption. By using this system unneeded records can transferred or destroyed regularly and keeping storage areas clear and accessible. This system too helps in finding key records quickly by using patient_id. Records also provide evidence of the hospital s accountability for its actions and they form a key source of data for medical research, statistical reports and health information systems. This project deals with various term like Registration, History, Appointment, Billing, Certificate and Medicine stock and store the overall patients information as well as clinical records. INTRODUCTION Before computerized Hospital Management System came into practice, it was difficult to keep proper records of the daily activities of hospitals, patient information, maintenance schedule of equipment s in the hospital, and how funds are being allocated and used. This resulted in waste of money, time and manpower. Hospital Management System is an information management system designed to help manage the various aspects of a hospital (administrative, clinical and financial). It helps in monitoring and controlling the hospital s daily transactions, as well as the hospital s performance. It also helps to address the critical requirements of the hospital. 2 Hospital Management System enables access to the right information and automation of complex task, thereby allowing staff to spend more time caring for patients. Hospital Management System is custom built to meet the specific requirements of the medium and large size hospitals across the globe. Hospital Management System is powerful, flexible and easy to use and is designed and developed to deliver real conceivable benefits to hospitals. Hospital Management System is designed for multi-specialty hospitals, to cover a wide range of hospital administration and management processes. It is an integrated end-to-end Hospital Management System that provides relevant information across the hospital to support effective decision making for patient care, hospital administration and critical financial accounting, in a seamless flow. Hospital Management System is a software product suite designed to improve the quality and management of hospital management in the areas of clinical process analysis and activitybased costing. Hospital Management System enables you to develop your organization and improve its effectiveness and quality of work. Managing the key processes efficiently is critical to the success of the hospital helps you manage your processes. II. SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE Architecture design represents the structure of data and program components that are required to build system. Architectural design begins with data and then proceeds to the derivation of one or more representation of architecture structure of the system. Alternative architecture style or pattern is analyzed to derive the structure that is based suited to customer requirement and quality attributes. Once an alternative has been selected, the architecture is elaborated using an architectural design. Fig. 1.1 Architecture III. WORKING MODULE 1. Login page: We have login page which contain username and password field for opening software interface as well as to provide security for administrator. After proper entering login id and password it open software main window to perform the specific operation. 2. Add Patient: This module is used to store patient details like name, gender, address, weight as well as prescription details about disease like medicine name, dose etc. 3. Search patient: This module is used to search patient very easily using patient name in search bar. Also, it is use to know other details about patient. 4. Medicine:
3 To maintain details about medicine like name, manufacturing date, expire date also to add new medicine stock and maintain details about medicine. 5. Appointment: It stores the appointment of patient also when we want to know about patient appointment we easily search in search bar. 6. Billing: It shows total income record using month as well as date. It helps to know about income and decide income margin. IV. DATA FLOW DIAGRAM The data flow diagrams (DFD), illustrates the processes, movement, and storage of data in the system. In DFD processes start from user/administrator authentication and then the data flows between clinic management. Thus the processes are manage by clinic management and data stored in clinic database. Also bill statement and other report transfer to user which also stored in database. Fig. 1.2 Data Flow Diagram V. RESULT The Hospital Management System software meets user requirement relating to entering patient data. It shows the number of patients registered in the hospital database. The system also was able to show patients past medical records such as diagnosis, medicine prescription and dosage. The system also gives the number of in-patients in the hospital at that particular time and what they are being treated for. A medicine database was also established, where the pharmacy can input the particular type of medicines available at that particular time so that doctors can know which drugs are readily available to be prescribed to patients. 1. Appointment: It stores the appointment of patient also when we want to know about patient appointment we easily search in search bar.
5 SCR-04 Appointment. 5. Add Medicine: To maintain details about medicine like name, manufacturing date, expire date etc., also to add new medicine stock and maintain details about medicine. SCR-05 Add Medicine VI. CONCLUSION AND FUTURE SCOPE 1. Conclusion: The project Hospital Management System is for computerizing the working in hospital. The software takes care of all the requirements of an average hospital and is capable to provide easy and effective storage of information related to patients that come up to the hospital. It generates test reports; provide prescription details including various tests, diet advice, and medicines prescribed to patient and doctor. It also provides billing facility on the basis of patient s status whether it is an indoor or outdoor patient. The system also provides the facility of backup as per the requirement. 2. Future Scope: Directly getting the images for CT-scan or X-ray from connected devices. Blood Bank Information Management: It helps two concepts inventory control and information retrieval. The probability error should be minimal. Report can be generated of donors, seekers, total consumption of the blood units and overall report monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly, half yearly, annually. Video Conferencing facility for remote areas for treatments: It Saves Time: Probably one of the most important advantages of video conferencing is the fact
6 that it saves a lot of time. This translates to productivity since you can dedicate the time you save on things like transit to a more direct use of working time. It is Affordable: Not so long ago, in order to schedule a meeting between two offices, you would have needed to schedule a business trip for one or both of the offices' representatives. This could run into expenses in the thousands, which would be out of the question for most small businesses. One of the advantages of video conferencing is that it gives an office the ability to meet regularly without spending vast sums of money in order to do so. Increased Productivity: Studies have shown that face-to-face interactions are far more likely to yield high quality results than simply interacting through audio or . One of the advantages of video conferencing, particularly Blue Jeans, is that it allows for this face-to-face meeting to occur easily, without jumping through a bunch of hoops to log on, while enabling a bunch of collaboration features that audio or communication methods just don t provide. Delivers a Tangible Return on Your Investment: One of the most important advantages of video conferencing from a financial perspective is its ability to give you a positive return on investment, When you look at the amount of money saved in things like travel, lodging, food and downtime, you can see how much a video conferencing investment can benefit a company, both in the short and long term and almost immediately.
