The discussion will focus on examples of using these principles to test decision-making principles, and will include the negative impacts of prejudices, paternalism, and lack of proper training, ways to garner trust, and objective results in working with patients/clients. This session will discuss some of the difficult questions/issues surrounding this patient population, such as hidden costs, effect of the current economic recession, managing frequent dual diagnoses and mental illness, and how to meet their care needs.
