LuAnn Cook, RN, ANP-BC has been in nursing for over 20 years. She has been an advanced practice nurse for 15 of those 20 years. She started as a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), working in ICU, CVICU, IMCU and telemetry. She then transitioned to an Adult Nurse Practitioner in She graduated from the University of Portland with her BSN. Attended UCLA and received her Masters Degree as a CNS. She then went on to receive a Post Master's Certificate from Emory University as an Adult Nurse Practitioner. She returned to Oregon in 2004, working briefly in Neurology then transitioned into her work with Evercare in At present LuAnn is the Health Services Director for Evercare in the State of Oregon. LuAnn is passionate about Nursing and being a Nurse Practitioner. Oregon Nurse Practitioners have been successful in collaborating with their legislative constituents to achieve their broad scope of practice. However, it remains important for each of us to continue to advocate for our present scope of practice and thoughtfully expand our scope of practice to meet the needs of Oregon's residents. With that in mind, LuAnn will diligently work on behalf of the Nurse Practitioners of Oregon. Listening to the NP's throughout the state, understanding that there are nuances between urban and rural practices that need to be considered when shaping legislation for this State.
