2 Program Description This vascular imaging symposium will provide physicians and technologists with up-to-date clinical information on the diagnosis and treatment of vascular diseases. The course is designed to change or improve physician and technologist performance in areas of non-invasive testing. Faculty from a multidisciplinary team of vascular, endovascular and neurovascular specialists will explore optimal current practices, provide cutting edge information, including future trends that will lead to enhanced patient care and improved diagnosis for patients with vascular disease. Hoag Vascular Lab at Hoag Heart & Vascular Institute is an accredited facility by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) in Vascular Testing. Credit Designation Accreditation The Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian is accredited by the Institute for the Medical Quality/California Medical Association (IMQ/CMA) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Credit Designation Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian designate this live educational activity for the maximum of 6.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit. Physicians should claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. This credit can apply to the CMA Certification of Continuing Medical Education SVU This program meets the criteria for SVU-CMEs which are accepted by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS ), the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) for Category A credit, and the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) for laboratory accreditation. Program is approved for 6.25 credits. This product [service] is not affiliated with or endorsed by ARDMS.
3 Educational Objectives Completion of the course should result in the attendee being able to: Emphasize the value of arterial physiologic testing in the management of the patients with Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD). Describe new concepts of limb perfusion. Recognize the increased morbidity of Iliofemoral DVT. Review the signs/symptoms and risk factors for post thrombotic syndrome. Describe the pathophysiology of aortic aneurysmal disease. Discuss hemodialysis access history, clinical characteristics and autonomic configurations. Describe intracranial structure and landmarks visualized on grayscale. Recognize that overall stroke rates are decreasing with contemporary medical care. Discuss carotid anomalies and traps to avoid in diagnosis and treatment. Describe optimization of therapeutic approaches to limb salvage. Describe Carotid Anomalies through the following case studies: o Anomalous Origins of the ICA/ECA o Anomalous Duplication of the CCA Discuss aortic dissection pathology and relevant imaging approaches. Describe renal failure in a patient with aortic dissection through the following case study: o Duplex Ultrasound Evaluation of a Mobile Aortic Dissecting Flap Triggering Retrograde Flow in the False Lumen Reducing Renal Artery Flow Who Should Attend This conference is intended for clinicians with an interest in the field of vascular disease, including: Physicians Technologists Students Health Care Professionals
