1 8455 Eton Avenue Canoga Park, California Office (818) / HOUSE RULES The following rules are intended to help you in your program of recovery and are for the benefit of all clients. Violations will not be tolerated and are cause for immediate dismissal. I. Personal Possessions: Possession or use of alcohol, in any form, or the illicit use of psychotropic drugs or any other narcotics is strictly prohibited. Clients will be randomly drug tested by the House Captain. R Babies Foundation is a ZERO tolerance environment and all clients found under the influence will be asked to leave. NO EXCEPTIONS. Valuables and large sums of money must be left home. There is a small shed where all your belongings can be stored. The recovery house is not responsible for the loss of such items or other property. Personnel radios, stereos, tapes or television sets are not allowed to be used on the premises. Absolutely no pets of any type allowed on the property at any time including visitation. II. Financial Responsibility Your responsibility as stated in the Admission Agreement begins with your first day of residency and paid enrollment fee. III. Leaving the Premises and Passes: All clients MUST sign in and out, never leaving without clearance by House Captain. No leaving the house after curfew or staying out all night without an overnight pass. Overnight passes will not be considered until one of the following has been completed: 30 days for sober living and 60 days of completion for court ordered clients. In some instances, legal approval may be required. All clients will be tested within 2 hours of return. Regarding overnight passes: It is understood and agreed upon that subject to approval for any overnight passes, Clients must demonstrate that all assigned chores, duties, and/or obligations up to and including, payment of monthly dues, fees, and/or other applicable charges have been completed and/or paid in full and up to date respectively.

2 Clients who have not completed any/all of their duties, chores, and/or obligations, or have an outstanding balance due on their agreed upon monthly fees, dues, other applicable charges, shall not be eligible nor will be granted any overnight passes. NO EXCEPTIONS! All entrance and exiting of the premises are monitored by coded keyless entry locks that are documented by electronic trail auditing computer system (Westinghouse). Each client will be assigned a personal code that will be tracked and documented. Passes: Passes are a privilege and not a right. Pass requests must be turned into the office on Tuesday for approval by staff on Thursday. You will be notified by Thursday if your pass has been approved. Overnight passes are from Friday at noon until Saturday at 5pm or noon on Saturday until 5 pm on Sunday. (Limit of 2 monthly, not consecutive.) IF YOU ARE OUT, YOU MUST NOTIFY THE OFFICE AT (818) WITH ANY CHANGES OF PLANS OR IF YOU ARE RUNNING LATE. DO NOT CALL THE HOUSE PHONE AND LEAVE MESSAGE WITH ANOTHER CLIENT OR LEAVE A MESSAGE ON THE VOIC IT WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED BY THE STAFF. IV. Required House Chores and Activities: Each client is responsible for her own personal grooming. Responsible for her own belongings. Each client is responsible for her cleanliness of her area. Every client is responsible for the general upkeep of both the house and grounds. All clients will be assigned a daily chore and must be completed daily. All house chores will be completed in a proper and timely manner. Chores will be checked off by the House Captain daily. As well as a double scrub done weekly, at the House Captain s discretion. V. Use of Telephones, Computers, and Television: House phone is turned off between 10:00 pm and 8 am. Answer the phone with a courteous greeting. Do not use the name of the house. You must not confirm or deny the presence of any client, whether present or not. A HIPAA Privacy law. No calls may be charged to the house phone. Do not give out any information. Many women do not want people to know they are in a recovery program. THIS IS MANDATORY!!!! In case of a house emergency, call the police, fire department or paramedics by dialing 911. State the name, address and phone number of the house. State as simply and quickly as possible what has happened and ask for assistance. Be mindful when using the computer. The TV must be turned off when not in use!

3 VI. General Behavior While a Client: No negative contracting with other clients. (e.g. covering up alcohol/drug use, violating the law, breaking the rules of R Babies Foundation.) (See also, Holding Secret Contract.) Two write ups of the following rules will result in immediate eviction: You may not have any prescription or non-prescription drugs in your possession at any time. Possession is grounds for immediate expulsion. No male visitors within the gated perimeter or in the house. NO EXCEPTION unless cleared by Janel. This rule is strictly enforced. Smoking is permitted only outside in designated areas. No smoking anywhere within the house, garage, bathrooms, or closets. Tampering with smoke detectors is a crime and punishment will be sought. No illegal behavior will be tolerated (e.g., theft, vandalism, dealing, driving without a license, etc.) No food or beverages can be consumed in the common living areas or bedrooms. Eat only in dining areas (kitchen, dining room, or patios). Water is the only exception and is allowed in the client s common area. No loud music, noise, or loitering of any kind on or near the premises (please respect our neighbors). R Babies Foundation practices recycling. All cans and bottles are to be disposed of in recycling containers only. Conserve water and energy. All electrical appliances are to be turned off when not in use. All money made from recycling will be used for something the clients want for the house. Clients are not allowed in another client s room or House Captain s room for any reason. Exceptions can be made with the House Captain only. Visiting hours are Saturdays and Sundays from 12 noon until 4 p.m. only and only applies to court ordered clients on lock down exceptions can be made only with the House Captain s approval. If you make a mess, it must be cleaned up immediately. Do not leave dirty dishes in the sink or on the counters or tables. Do not leave dirty clothes in the bathroom or in the laundry room. Absolutely no mail will be sent to the house for any reason. All mail will need to be sent to your own P.O. Box, or another mailing address. (e.g. family members home, etc.). Clients may also have their mail sent to Doc s office. Addressed as follows: Client s name C/O R Babies Foundation 7012 Reseda Blvd. Reseda, CA Mail will be delivered to the client in a timely manner. If a client isn t working, they will be expected to babysit for working mothers when they are working or attending IOP. All clients must be up and have beds made before leaving the house or at a reasonable time. Curfew is 10 pm Sunday through Thursday, and 12 am Friday and Saturday. However, variance from this will depend on school/work schedules and will be decided by the House Captain. Be considerate of personal property of others. Do not touch anything that does not belong to you, this is considered stealing and grounds for termination.

4 Do not enter any client s area unless you are invited. Respect the privacy of all clients in the house. Food is not permitted in the bedrooms. Only water! All shoes are to be left outside. Slippers (will be provided) are to be worn at all times indoors. This is a state requirement. If you are without slippers, you will lose one (1) hour of your pass or curfew. No nudity at any time. You must wear clothes to bed. Turn out unnecessary lights and light over the stove. All other lights out in common areas at 10:00 pm. No sexual intimacy with other clients or anyone while on the premises. Make-up may not be applied at any eating area. Blow dry hair in the bathroom only. Personal behavior that is disruptive and not conductive to the recovery of all clients will lead to expulsion from the house. Any client causing dissension among other clients will be subject to immediate expulsion. Theft is immediate grounds for expulsion from the house. Random walkthroughs will take place at least once a week by management. We reserve the right to forfeit any client s agreement at any time in which the rules/terms are not met. Note: Additionally, report all emergencies to House Captain immediately! Be considerate of the time you spend in the bathroom. No responsibility will be assumed by the house for bills, medical or otherwise. After 30 days, a client may have her children spend the night on the 1 st and 3 rd weekends of the month from Saturday 12:00 pm to Sunday at 5:00 pm. The client MUST first consult staff and other clients. Clients are responsible for the care and behavior of their children at all times. All personal articles left at the R Babies Foundation House will be held for a period not to exceed 30 days, at which time they will be disposed of at the discretion of the management and of the Board of Directors. Personnel property left at the R Babies Foundation House by a client still owing monies to the house, and not actively paying the monies on a set schedule, will have any personal property remaining at the house held until paid in full, or R Babies Foundation assumes ownership. Any unpaid balance will still be owed. The refrigerator is for the client's use. Do not use something that is not yours. You must have your name marked and have red stickers clearly on all items. No house food may be kept for personal use. The house food is any food item not marked by a red sticker. The front door is to remain locked at all times and the gates MUST be closed at all times. NO LAUNDRY USE AFTER 10:00 pm NO EXCEPTIONS! Wipe down all counters, lids, doors, and surrounding areas of washer and dryer. Lint filter is to be cleaned out after each use. Measure all cleaning liquids carefully; do not be wasteful. You must wash and change your bed linens once a week. Do not put your laundry into house laundry.

5 Your personal area bedroom & bathroom - must be clean and neat at all times. No revealing, gang, alcohol or drug related clothing or anything else staff feels is inappropriate. No foul or otherwise offensive language shall be used. No drug or alcohol glorification will be tolerated. Violence - physical, verbal or implied - will not be tolerated at any time and grounds for immediate termination. Any negative attitude or comments towards or about R Babies Foundation, its staff or representatives, other clients or the program will not be tolerated, bring your concerns to the appropriate staff or person. Any other action or behavior R Babies Foundation staff feels is inappropriate will result in disciplinary action. I,, have read the house guidelines and agree to adhere to all of them.
