1 myfuture HOW TO REGISTER & POST A TA POSITION Document Description This documents is for administrators and professors posting TA positions on myfuture It gives a step by step procedure to register as an employer and post a position Document written by: Jean Hepworth
2 Introduction McGill s Career Centre (CaPS) is proud to introduce its new integrated career services system. This new cutting-edge and intuitive web application will allow us to serve you better and more efficiently. Our website will allow you to: Signing in Create a company profile, including logo and branding, potentially viewable by more than 30,000 McGill students and recent alumni; Post your employment opportunities online (including internship postings) Receive and manage students applications Request rooms for information sessions and on-campus interviews online and much more Go to url: If you have not already registered with myfuture, click Register and post a job from the log-in page, otherwise enter your username and password ~ 2 ~
3 From the Register and post a job tab, fill in all the required fields and click Next For the organization name please use the following naming policy McGill Department name Ex. McGill Dept. of Psychology McGill Dept. of Urban Planning McGill Dept. of History ~ 3 ~
4 Fill in all the required fields. Blind Posting set to NO McGill Internship Program set to NO Position Type set to McGill Teaching Assistantship Title Field enter the term, course name & number plus # of Positions (ex. Fall - Math postions) Job Function Select McGill TAship Additional Documents DO NOT need to select any additional documents available Requested document notes - Enter the following text in the textbox: o Fill out the Graduate Student Application for Teaching Assistantships ( and upload it as your resume Desired Major - Be specific when you select the majors. DO NOT select All Majors o Students are not restricted by major for any position Click Submit when finished ~ 4 ~

6 Once you have submitted your posting for approval, the following screen will appear. Note: The CAPS office will approve all new registrations and job postings. Once you have been approved you will receive an confirmation. ~ 6 ~
7 How to Post a Job (TAship) If You Are Already Registered Sign in: From your homepage, click on the Jobs tab Click on the Add New button and fill in all of the required fields and submit ~ 7 ~
8 If you want to copy an old job posting, click on the Add New button o If the deadline for the previously posted position has already passed click on the Show Archived button Select the position that you would like to copy from the drop-down menu o Modify the posting as needed o Fill out the Posting Date and Application Deadline Date field s and click on Submit ~ 8 ~
9 How to Produce a List of Applicants Sign in: From your homepage, click on the Jobs tab Click on the Student Resumes tab and select the position title under the position field and click Search to view all the applications for selected position. Click on the icon to select all the students on the list. The text in red indicates the number of items selected. Click on the Save As Excel Button to export this list to an excel file. ~ 9 ~
10 How to Produce a List of Students Hired as TAs Sign in: From Student Resumes tab under the main Job Tab, select the position title under the position field and click Search to view all the applications for selected position From the status drop-down menu select Hired for the students that have been selected as TAs. You can now create a list of all students you have hired for a particular job and save it as excel Select the position title from the position field and select Hired under status and click on search to view all the students that were hired Now click on the excel. icon to select all the students on the list and click on the Save as Excel button to export to ~ 10 ~
